Hi all,

I'd like to present external only phone calls to our agents without displaying the Caller ID until the phone call is answered. Is this possible with IP Office? Using release 8.

Thanks!

You can't mask or manipulate caller id with IP Office in that way :)

If agents are avoiding calls switch to auto answer until they learn their lesson :)

Thanks. Saw something on another thread that suggested putting in a directory entry matching wild cards, something like:

External Call<lots of spaces>A
9??????????

Tried testing a variation of this, but the phone system rebooted on every inbound call.

the only way is to get the inbound call to dial out again and back in while withholding the outbound cli.

Trying something suggested in this thread (after having to rebuild the SD card and recover a very unhappy IP Office.

Looks like I found a way to get the IP office to reboot on any inbound call!

In any case, dizzyphil suggests that by using voicemail pro somehow, he found he can squelch until the call is answered. Trying to figure out now what that is...

For those following along at home, I was able to accomplish the goal of only presenting Caller ID once the phone was answered by doing the following:

In VoiceMail Pro, I setup a short code that simply contains a transfer action. This contains a destination of the hunt group I'm targeting as well as Source and Description text that indicates an incoming external call.

Then, on the IP office, I create a shortcode to the VM shortcode and set the incoming call route to that shortcode instead of the hunt group.

The effect is that the call comes in, is transferred to the VM shortcode, and is then presented to the hunt group members with different text on the screen.

Once the agent answers the call, they see the caller ID information.

Something interesting I noted in testing, is that when an entry prompt is added to the shortcode start point, the source and description will not appear on the phone until the entry prompts have finished playing.

Hope this helps someone else!

You could try this shortcode:

200
100S"Blocked Number"
0
Dail extension

Route the oncoming call to 200 and extension 100 shows "blocked number"
This only works without Phonemanager though :)

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Slight issue here with calls forwarded on to an external number after this happens. Caller ID appears to no longer be forwarded on using NSSi in ARS for calls originating on the same IP office as centralized voicemail.

Trying to resolve this, but I'm wondering if any of this is supported behavior.
