Caller ID Different than Actual extension

How and where can the Caller ID be changed to display a bogus number to called parties to prevent receiving call backs directly to one's extension?

Some carriers do no allow spoofing and will either reject a spoofed number that's not part of your dial plan, or they'll replace the spoofed number with your main billing telephone number.

We actually have a number of DIDs which currently display our main billing number to called parties. How is this setup and changed?

you should contact your CLEC/LEC for that change to be made. due to HIPAA laws, a decision was made to block the outbound caller id were i am currently cleaning things up at.

I have identified quite a few DIDs in different EPNs which display the main billing number on every outgoing call without using a blocking code. I haven't verifed whether all DIDs in each of these EPNs have the block or not. Is it done in the switch or on the outbound trunks?

Thanks bsh. Last questions - It appears that only x4567 will send the correct ANI to E911. What ANI/ALI will the other 2 exts send to the PSAP, doesn't this defeat the purpose of having E911, and open the door for liability?

You want to send bogus numbers? Here is where you do it.
It sends them to everyone based on the way you program it.

Note the info sent is dependant on the outgoing trunk-group.
for outgoing calls for TG 1 - send bogus number based on what you program.

for outgoing calls for TG 2 - send correct number

use ars analysis tables for routing to trunk-group 2 for 911 calls and when you want someone to know your callback number.

use ars analysis tables for routing to trunk-group 1 for other anonymous type calls
