Hello all, new guy with a question of course,

Nortel Norstar MICS6.1 Incoming lines on T1, callpilot 150/mini rel 02 0003

I have an odd problem with an extension not getting Caller ID. The extension in question answers a dedicated number, someone before me had the AA answer the call and go to the CCR tree where the caller heard "If you need to reach so and so, press 1" And that's it. The extension in question was having some problems between local calls and 800 calls coming into it, 800 calls worked fine, local call rang to neverland. I took off the AA and CCR and had the line appear directly on the phone instead. Doing this however had "####### (I don't recall the exact #)from PRI" show up instead of the callers number.

So I put AA back on, set it to a CCR tree with a home node set as a transfer instead of an option and vola, caller ID shows up on the phone again, any ideas?

Also, I need to use a Hunt Group from a CCR transfer (they want multiple people to answer incoming calls instead of the long menu choice they have now), but the documentation I have says that "Hunt group set numbers cannot be in a page zone." Does this mean that if I add phones to a hunt group that they loose the ability to receive a page? Or is it referring to something else?

And on one phone it has the date and time with the word "UPDATE" above the button, pressing this comes up with a DN's number, NEXT and OK Not sure what it's about, never seen it before and pressing OK doesn't clear it.

Lastly, there is one phone that rings and then just stops, there is no voicemail or call forward setting on this phone or anything, it just rings and then goes back the the CCR. Other phones will just sit and ring forever.

Thanks to all,

Steven

Ok, the caller ID problem check the ext. programing and see if
name, number or PRI line number is programed to show up on that phone set, not sure thats the problem but check any way.
Now the hunt group thing, yes you can CCR a path to a hunt group pilot mumber, add ext to that group and choose one of the three ringing choices and it has nothing to do with paging.now on the phone that rings and goes back to the CCR menu maybe its set to ring on incoming calls so its getting that spert ring befor AA answers the call, and the ones that just ring and ring, check call forward no answer and make sure its forwarded to the voice mail dn

I checked all the setting for the caller id and don't see anything that would stop it from showing up. I'm thinking it has something to do with the line itself when it's directed to that dn privately.

I'll be doing that hunt group this week, I've never seen a system that said that the extensions would be taken out of a paging group if they were in a hunt group. Customer said they would use the overhead if that is the case.

As for the ringing phone, that's just it, they don't want voicemail on it. They only want it answered if someone is physically there to answer it, so it need to just keep ringing.

Thank You,

Steven

Tr default line properties and make it Private to that set, then change it to public, then make the line appear and ring at the set, change prime line to that set under lines and Telco feature settings are proggrammed and what tyhecoming also advised.
