I have a MICS with 4.1 software and am unable to recieve caller I.D. automatically on all extensions, this is a residential application and the customer does not want to press a F811 button, I only recieve it on the CLID set--however all other extensions are assigned to appear and ring. Any suggestions?

CLID Info
On an MICS only one phone per line will show the caller ID information automatically. The other phones will need to press feature 811 to see the info. On a CICS you can set it for all phones. Nortel is going to fix this disparity in the new MICS 6.0 software due out around September, October of 2002. On the MICS, caller ID is programmed in LINES>Trunk/Line data> type is loop, and CLID set: xxx where xxx is the set you want the caller ID to come up on for inbound calls. You can make the caller ID show up on more than one phone by using a hunt group - and assign all the phones you want the caller ID to show up on (or you can use feature 811 while the call rings).

Thank you for your reply, I have tried to designate the CLID set as a hunt group--however the system would not accept the first digit of the hunt group. Do I need to create the hunt group first?

I make the CLID set 'none', assign the lines to a hunt group and all the sets to 'ring only' in the hunt group.
This has worked for me.
Also, any lines assigned to the hunt group that appear on phones, I set them to 'Appear Only'(instead of Appear&Ring) - the hunt group ringing will make them ring.

Clear as mud eh?
