Anyone who ever had this type of issue before with a BCM50? Customer complains some time when caller reached their AA and tried to press # go to company directory or press ** go to VM, but got no response. This happened intermittently, and the lines carrier inspected their lines and say nothing wrong with them. Is it possible something wrong within the BCM? Thanks in advance for any reply.

Is the checkbox for Make Directory Available checked? Also what version are you using? I had a 2.0 that the VM was iving me problems. I got the latest patches in there and all issues went away.

Thanks CTCINY, Yes the Directory is checked, most of times it works fine, just happened to some people to some phones, especially from a cell, more chance to see the problem. The BCM50 isrelease 3 and 8 lines are punched in the main uinit and a 8x16 Combo.

Some cell phone carriers don't send long enough tones for the BCM to recognize, and I don't believe there is anything you can do about this...

I believe I have heard that on this forum before. By chance take note of who it hapens to and find out who there carrier is

There is a patch, but I don't remember the Number. Maybe someone else does.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Is this 3.0? If so patch R300.DSP-Firmware-50. You need smart update -28 or later first

Thanks a lot all of you guys.

To Jackson, I did not remember the Firmware patch applied or not, but the latest SU patches for sure is installed. I did check or Nortel Web, the firmware patch does fix the exactly problem this customer has. Thanks a lot I'll do it tomorrow and let you guys know the result.

Thanks again all of you above for the advice.

I am no expert, but I have this problem frequently when calling from a cell phone - when I press the buttons a little more slowly and firmly and reception is good, it works every time. Sometimes, when in a rush, I have to remind myself that the machine is only as good as the command...

BCM050.R300.DSP-FIRMWARE-50

The following issues are addressed:

1. Auto attendant does not recognize "0" or "#"
This issue is caused due to a conflict with the SIT (Special
Information Tone) tone previously added in DSP.
This problem is fixed in this update.

YES! I think that is the patch. I asked customer 2 days later apllied the patch, he said had not got any complains about no response on # or *. So I think that is it. Thanks for all of you above.
