I set up a VDN to transfer to our Modular Messaging system, specifically to a particular Caller Application.
This Caller App has 8 nodes and nodes 2-7 transfer to other extensions.
A caller dials the VDN, hears the caller app greeting and presses 2-7 to transfer to an extension.
If the extension is immediately busy, the system says press 3 to try again or * to hang up. This works.
If the extension does not answer, the system says press 3 for assistance or * to hang up. This also works, but not like I want it to.
Right now if they press 3 for assistance MM transfers to zero, which is the system-wide default receptionist mailbox number. Is there any way to change where "3" transfers on a per caller application basis, if the original extension the caller is transferred to does not answer?
I know that if the extension they transfer to has a voicemail box, the caller can press 2 to leave a message or 3 for assistance. If they press 3, MM transfers to the personal operator of the voicemail box. BUT, if the personal operator does not answer and the caller presses 3 again in the caller application, it transfers to zero.
It's frustrating because I don't want zero to be the operator at all, but the default receptionist mailbox number cannot be blank.
Any ideas?
Thank you!
