I inherited an old system durting an acquisition that I am trying to resurect for a couple of months. The ACD works fine, but I can't get the MIS software to launch. Of course, there is no software with the system, so I'm wondering if anyone have a copy of the CallCenter WorX -MIS software version 1.0-137?

Thanks in advance!

When you say it won't launch, does that mean that it is loaded on a PC but it won't connect? If that's the case, you need to make sure the "dongle" or activation key is plugged into the computer running the software's LPT port. The keys are not married to the physical software, the software just has to see it before it will connect.

Also, typically the actual CCWX server will have a dongle and the MIS software on it.

One more thing, the MIS software is now at 3.XX so you must have a really old set up. As for where to get a copy, you would need to contact your local NEC rep as I'm sure they could help you. You will only need one copy for all PC's running the app as long as they have a key attached.

MercuryComm,

Thanks for the advice. I am aware of the "dongle" and it is installed on the CCWX server. There are no client PCs with a dongle as they access the server software using PCAnywhere. Accessing the server using PCAnywhere isn't a problem, it's getting the -MIS software to start. If you double click on the application icon nothing happens. I've rebooted the server but it's still the same, so my next thought was to reinstall the -MIS app and see if that resolves it.

As for being old, yup, you got it, it's stone age and considered obsolete. And because it's obsolete, NEC will not support it and won't provide the software. I'm sure someone has a copy, it's just finding it.

Thanks again for the advice.
Cheers!

Do you have access to the NTAC site or work with a current vendor? I just checked and the full installation of 2.01 is on the site which may or may not work. I think the keys for version 2 are the same, but moving to 3 would require a new dongle, but I cannot be sure. You could try installing it on a separate PC and connecting the key. Otherwise there are also the executable's for the build you are using, but not full installation CD's. I just checked and the oldest CD that I have for CCWX is version 2.

Unfortunately I don't have access to NTAC and don't have a vendor. I have contacted NEC, but they just tell me it's not the current release and won't help, hence the post in the hope that someone has an old CD.

Version 2 may work, so let me see if I get access to NTAC. Do you happen to know if ver2 works with Windows NT? Yup, it's old and so is the platform it runs on, which is why I need to run it for a couple of months as I can't upgrade this version on the current server.

Thanks for the advice, and thaks for checking your version.

Here is a link to the 2.01 version. This should work fine on NT. I would try this on a separate PC with your existing dongle. Choose the second option on the install which is MIS and ACD SERVER.

Thanks, gmannatl. I will take your advice and test this on a seperate system first to make sure the existing dongle works.
