Hi Guys,

Very new to the Mitel system so this should be a very simple question for everyone here......

I am working on a 3300 cx controller, i have a mixture of handsets but mainly using 5212,5340 ip phones and mitel dect handsets.

My question is how can i turn off call waiting so that when someone is on a call they do not get a beep in their ear when a second call comes in?
I thought that this would be done in the class of service forms but i have not been able to turn it off.

Any help would be appriciated...

COS Option - Camp-on Tone Security/FAX Machine

Thanks KwbMitel,

I thought that this was the case and i have set this to yes, which in my understanding of the manual (help files) turns the tone in the ear off but on the Dect handsets when a second call comes in they still receive a tone!!

Any ideas......

I suppose it might only apply to analog stations.

Try enabling in the COS of the trunks just in case it is calling device dependant.

Your scenario seems quite unusual, you don't have voicemail?

No, its abit of an awkward one, we are taking over the site from someone else and they don't want to change the config at all!

I will have a look at the trunk COS and see how it goes.

Thanks for your help

are u reffering to external calls that campon?
internal calls do give a busy tone by default if using a cos that has it's auto camp-on timer to 10. in fact it will camp-on after 10 seconds only.

if it's external calls you can blank out the auto campon timer for the cos of the trunks. this will give busy tone for all phones not individually as you can do with internal calls...hope this helps. all this off course assuming you wanna give busy tone and not just camp on silently

Hi Mitelpassion,

Camp on silently - what does this feature provide?

Cheers

MitelPassion was giving you the option of not camping on at all. This would effectively remove the campon tones you are complaining about.

This method throws out the baby with the bath water.

Camp On Silently is what you have asked for. No solution as yet.

This from the on-line help file:
(pretty much what kwbmitel said)

You will not hear Camp-on tone in the following situations:
- when you are on Hold
- when you are in a privacy call situation
- when the COS option "Camp-on Tone Security/FAX Machine" is enabled

I don't think it can be turned off. I guess the logic would be why do you want callers to camp-on if you never gonna know that they have camped on....good luck!

I have the same problem, if the call is external, I ear the campon. I blank out the auto campon timer in my Trunk COS (PRI) and same problem.

Any idea ?

Thank's

I need to ask the same question, why would you like to make people wait while nobody is going to answer in limited amount of time?

I've recently used blanking the Auto-Campon Field in the COS to stop Call waiting totally... or so I thought.

The user has complained after about 8 weeks she's just had a call waiting beep!

I checked and all the COS's in use on the IP trunks, the phones and the ISDN 30's are blanked.

Any other places to look?

This may or may not help and I might be grasping at straws here but try making the campon tone repeat option in the system option assignment form 0. This should at least get rid of the repeated tones, but the first one will remain.

Hope this helps

Peterhurst,

if you blank the campon timer in the cos for your isdn's the calling parties shouldn't campon at all. they should get busy tone if the called party is on the phone.

COS auto camp on timer on trunks and the set blank it out.

Do not put o as this means indefinite camp on.

Turn off call forward override in the FE form (if even defined there)
Turn it off in the COS as well.

auto campon timer in cos left blank (not zero) will result in busy tone if an external call rings in????

setting this same option in cos to zero means immediate campon when phoning a set internally, externally this value makes no difference unless left blank on the trunk cos.

campon tone repeat timer in system options assignment form set to zero means only initial campon tone is heard and nothing again after that.

I'm starting to confuse myself but I think this is right..
