We have a BCM50. I need to forward George's calls and voice mail to Stevens extension and voicemail. I can forward the calls easy enough but do not know how to have messages go to Stevens mailbox instead of George's. Make sense I hope? Anybody have any input?

Can you provide more detail?
Is this temporary?
Is this something you want to ocurr at the press of a button or time of day?
Why do you want to do this?
The more info the better you'll get a response with a solution.

It's a tempory situation. George will be on medical leave for an undetermined period of time and Steven wants to have George's calls transfered to his extension and when he is not there to answer the phone he would like to have George's voice mail default to his mailbox. There are ways around this by just giving Steven George's password to access his voice mail, but it would be more convient if he didn't have to walk half way around the building to get to George's office to check his voice mail. George is very involved in the manfacturing process and receives numerious calls and messages thru out the day.

You don't need to physically be at a phone to check messages. When you use feature 981, you can press "OTHR". At this point the voicemail, Silicon Sally, will ask you for the Mailbox number, followed by the password, and then press "O.K." You have now logged into that persons mailbox from where you are. You can also setup "Steven's" Extension number as a target attendant from within "ADMIN" on "George's" mailbox. Have George record a greeting that he will not be able to return any calls for a while, and for immediate assistance, to dial "0". This will transfer all callers to Steven.

Hope this helps.

Exactly what I was going to suggest.
Target Attendant will work best for the VM side of things.
Have George press Feature 4 and then input Stevens extension before he leaves and then all of his calls will forward to Steven.
Problem with this is ... if they both own vm boxes, and Steven doesn't answer the call, it will still go to Georges mailbox. But, with the Target Attendant set they caller can press 0 and transfer to Steven, now if the call forwards to voicemail it will land in Stevens mailbox.

Confused yet?
We don't make the big bucks for nothin!! [wink]

If Steve didn't have vmail, would it still go back to George's vmail?

Good question Dasheen, I thought of that also. It's either a fix or GD. Wanna make a bet? I think it will go to GD.

Adversity is Opportunity

You could also temporarily take the extension number out of Georges mailbox and add it as an alternate extension in Steve's mailbox. Then all georges calls will go into steves mailbox.

Well ... if Steven didn't have a mailbox, I would assume his set would not FNA to VM.
In this case I think the Transfer Callback Timer would come into play and bring it back to VM ... but where?

Did you test it Dewey?
I would hope it would go back to the mailbox the call was transferred from ... at least that would be nice. But it could also return the AA Menu Prompt or the GDM.

No, I can't test, I'm babysitting an Option 81 nowadays. Dash and I, were looking at if he didn't remove CFNA.

Seems to me blue has the answer.

Simple. Just make Steven's forward delay one ring less than George's. Done.
