This worked so well last time thought I would try another question. We have a MICS system and when the operator transfers a call to a DN and no one answers the call rings back to the operator (or to the AA if the return to AA) is enabled. Is there a way for the operator or anyone else anwering a call to transfer a call and if no one answers have it go to voice mail?
Thanks again.

If you have Forward no answer set as the VM DN under the set programing and say at 4 ringsitshould go to the VM of that phone.Make sure that the transfer callback is set at 4 or higher.

The settings are as follows:
Transer callback is set at 3
forward no answer is set at 4
DRT delay is 6

The way it is working now if someone calls and gets the AA they get transferred to the proper extension. If that person is not in they are forwarded to voicemail and all is good. If someone calls from the outside and it is picked up by the operator and they are transferred and no one answers the call goes back to the automated attendent. I tried changing the transfer recall timer to 5 and it started exiting the system whenever outside calls went to an extension from the automated attendent.

Changeing the Transfer callback should of done it by making it higher then the FWD no answer.Have you tried to reboot.Sounds like a S/W glitch.DRT shoulden't be an issue.

Anyone have any other ideas? Any weird settings that could affect this?

As a result of the problem we had a few weeks ago we had to replace the system software. I am sure it is a newer version than what was originally installed. I have read in other threads about a "patch" that was needed on some VM systems when this is done. Could that be affecting this?

Yes... there are incompatabilities with various voicemail software revision levels & the software level of the KSU.

Posting your software levels of both your KSU & your voicemail type (NAM, Flash, CallPilot) would be a great help.

The software level for the KSU can be found in system programming -> Maintenance -> Software version.

Thanks

Press feature 985 to see the primary voicemail extension and verify that the Forward No Answer settings on the extensions are directed to that VM DN.

As far as the software compatability issue, If your software is 4.1 or newer and you have a Flash that has release 17, that might be an issue. I think Flash release 19 is required for the newer software.

It appears that the system version is 30CPE06 NAT
Not sure where to find the information on versions of voicemail etc. I am not real familiar with phone systems, but if you can tell me where to look for the information I will get it. I didn't see anything under feature 983 that indicated what version I had.

If you have a voicemail cabinet that is about the same size as the MICS, and has a door that opens, and a floppy drive, it is a NAM voicemail. Look for the software cartridge and see if it is 3.0, 4.0, 4.1, etc.

If your voicemail is about that size but doesn't have a door, but lifts off instead, it is an A, B or C and it is old.

If your voicemail cabinet is smaller, and has Flash on it, open the front and look at the cartridge version.

Also look at the software version on the MICS.

I having a similar problem...I have the Fwd no Answr set to none and it rings back to whomever made the transfer. I would like it to go to the voicemail after trying the trans. Tried to make the Fwd No Answr 250 but wouldn't let me(250 is the extention as well). Am i doing something wrong? Is the voicemail dn different from the ext, if so how can i find out?

Thanks,

Dave P

You have a MICS 6.1 XC. To check voicemail, log into f983, press 9. This will give you the version and type of vmail.

When in doubt RTFM (read the friggin manual)
