Hi!

I'm having problems with the call transfer feature, our operator has been frustrated in transferring calls to various extension, digital or analog.

Based on our monitoring and observation, upon transferring the call, a fast busy could be heard, quite different from the actual 'busy' tone when the extension is being used. After several transfer attempts, 5 to 8, the call pushes through, but after talking to the extension, it was never in use. This goes on with random extension, we were trying to isolate if it's from specific groups, or locals but no success.

Initial action was to reset the system but, the result is the same.

Any thoughts on this? we tried deleteing a group of extension and reporgraming, pulling out the voice cards but no improvement.

Thanks!

are extensions set properly in 1200
for analogs 1200 should be 2= dtmf
for dterms 1200 should be 3

does teh system have a register card or is it only using the onboard registers on the cpu

- might be work chucking in a regsister card

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

HI Bill,

Thank you for information, I'm not familiar with the register card, is this the license? we have 128, also, this situation just happened a month or to ago, it started with just 2 or 3 extensions then it got worse, then the operator and customers started to complain on 'no answering'.

I'll check the extension parameters too.

Again thank you for this :D

You need to do some more testing to try and isolate it to a card/PIM/FP. systematically call then transfer to an extension in the same PIM, same card same FP. Note which ones work and which ones fail. NOTE: an FP card is a firmware processor, one for every for two PIMs. In the IPS (CP-24 CPU), the first FP is built in to the CPU. In PIM 2 (numbering starts with 0,2,4,6). The CP-15 is the FP card. Also, is the operator phone a 716 ATTCON, or a regular multiline telephone?

Hi Belevedere,

Thanks for the info, we're using a Dterm8 with 1(one) DSS console.

Perform the tests I suggested and include tranfering from a station other than the ATTCON position. More information will be needed to narrow down the possibilities.

Hi Belevedere,

Sorry it took awhile..

We did all the testing as follows:

Call and transfer from Main to Main cabinet, Explansion to Expansion and Main to cabinet (vice versa) thru the MDF while floating the cables and it works fine

Same as above but from User to User, the fast busy could still be experienced, we tried isolating the cables but with the same results except much lesser fast busy was encountered.

Also, another issue came up with our ISDN30 channels PN-DTA, we have outgoing calls but no incoming calls. Upon observing, when an incoming call is received, the BL Led flashes (Red). On the caller side, only a fast busy tone can be heard.

Hoping for your help on this

Thanks :D
