Can you record conversations on a Cisco phone system? My sales people need to have the ability to record their conversations for quality purposes.

There are several ways to record calls on the Cisco hardphones.

The easiest way is probably to use something that records directly off of the handset, like the devices below.

But, do you really want the sales people controlling which calls are recorded and which are not?

If not, you can use an application like VOMIT to decode and record the calls off of the net.

You might also try the Nice products - we're about to try the NiceLog solution. I'll try to remember a follow up post once I've gotten the unit onsite :

The Wordnet series is based on Cisco's SPAN technology and can record all calls, including internal :

and

The NiceLog is also SPAN based, but typically at the E1 interface card, meaning that it only records external calls :

Apologies for the lack of solid information at these links - Nice's website leaves a lot to be desired. Best bet is to find a distributor near you and take it from there. We're in Edinburgh, Scotland and use Sinclair Voicenet.

Check out

They have a really good QA package, and data-mining options, i.e. search for words or phrases, speech-to-text, stress analysis, etc. Very good company, very cutting-edge.
