Has anyone sorted the distortion issue when using the BCM's Call Recording?

Does anyone use it and NOT have distortion?
If so which BCM and which release?

I am wondering if it's a handset (transmit)issue, such as newer sets where the transmit is much greater.
I never thought to try older phones or handsets till now.

and....

Does any one know of a decent multiline analog recorder to intercept the lines?
While the Call Record via Callpilot works fine the client does not wish to press Record for every call.

Thanks

I have it set up on a few IP sets and I don't have any problems when I listen to the recordings. I don't use any headsets, just the good old receiver.

Goodmorning!

I am also using the call pilot recording for all sets and ip sets on my system.
I have call distortion once in a while.
We found out that by bringing handset volume down to normal settings will help.
Also tell people using it to speak in a normal tone of voice. The majority of people are loud!

Haven’t seen any difference between handset and headset are far as call recording is concerned.

I would also try playing with the systems main volume control!
Leave everybody control their own set volume.

Cheers

Hi Curlycord!

Time for me to help you for a change!

There is the old ALGO recorders which will record all the calls automatically on the Nortstar/BCM systems. They are either on a single box unit (per set or analog line) or there is a card file system that handles up to 16 sets on a rack mount. They are difficult to locate at this point since they are out of production.

Yes, I have installed them before and had the 4100 under my desk for my years with Williams but because they are not supported and hard to get parts is why I am now searching for a tap/bridge type.
Great product though, too bad they were quick to dump it....but thanks!

The client will try the BCM's version by not shoving the mic into their mouth per above tip and I may try the cotton thing finally, otherwise they will use the mailbox record method if still too distorted.

I did come across this one that might come in handy for somebody else
