Hi everyone... I have a Norstar MICS 6.1 with a CallPilot 150. I have a few sets that I need to record all conversations on (my trading desk) and a few that I may want to record on (depending on the cost and difficulty). The conversations need to be able to be played back relatively quickly (within 15 minutes if necessary). They also need to be archived indefinitely. Does anyone know if there is a way to acheive this with this setup, or can you suggest other hardware/software that will do it?

Thanks,

Jay

Try checking out ALGO Communications website.
They have a product call the USB AUXBOX 4102 used for recording voice calls to a PC. This is a box that sites between the Norstar digital phone and your PC via a USB cable. You can set it up to record all calls to that extension or just certain calls by pressing a hotkey (such as F2). THe great part about that is it records from the BEGINNING of the conversation, even if you press it anytime durning the call.

MSRP is around $400/extension.

PS: ALGO is an approved Nortel 3rd-party solutions provider.

It's a good recorder and very sneaky!

I hate conceited people that think they are a good as me!!!

We ended up going with the AUXBOX and they are awesome. Thanks for the tip. We got them for around $310 each.

The only thing I don't like is that they don't have the beep to notify the other party it is being recorded.

Other than that, they are great.

dees also makes a nice product for Nortel.

If you would prefer to hear an alert that the call is being recorded, you can use the call record feature in the call pilot.

Under COS settings, ensure "enable record call" is set to yes for the class of service assigned to users. Then when on a call, from the set dial F989 and the call will be recorded. The recording goes to the user's mailbox and can be saved there.

If there is concern about the retention time for the saved message, that can also be changed in the COS settings.

Hope this helps.
