Does the Call Pilot or Messenger, (the model that installs in line with the Norstar)have a call recording feature. If so how easy is it to set up and work.

I need to get a Call Pilot or Messenger that will have 30 mailboxes, 25 unified messaging seats, and a call record feature for all the phones, or at least the phones with a mail box. The customer has a Norstar, but I want to know if these features require a BCM.

Thanks

yes either a 100 or 150 will record calls. I would recommend a 150, it has more storage space for the recorded calls. The user pushes a call record button on their phone, then the phone system conferences in a voicemail port and records the call as a voicemail message in their mailbox. Its easy to set up, but the customer will have to go through all their saved messages to find a particular recorded conversation. It will be easier though with unified messaging, as the user can transfer and sort the files electronically.

No, you don't need a BCM. Edit the class of service you assign to the mb's to allow recording, and program a "Record" button on their phones. (as bluemr2 said.)

DOES THE CUSTOMER ONLY WANT TO OCCASIONALLY RECORD CALLS OR RECORD ALL CALLS. IF IT IS THE LATTER, YOU WOULD NEED A 3RD PARTY SYSTEM. THE CALL PILOT DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH MEMORY TO RECORD ALL CALLS.
