Does anyone have any idea what would cause a Hicom 150e system to lock 2 external calls together?

System uses TML8W Analogue Line Cards together with the SLMO 24 digital extn cards.

I'm a relative newbie to this particular type of system and the user manual isn't of any significant help. I've downloaded a version of the Manager E software, but not too sure whether this will help.

There are some other issues as well, but these are more specific to hunt groups and pickup group issues.

Also - is there a way to set a system up uses the analogue i/c trunk cards to create a customer facing voice menu system for direct extn access?

Create a "Common Hold" key for transferring calls, or remove the phone out of "Call pickup" group. What happens when a call comes in on a second phone then the display will change and the "mark" V key changes function instead of the transfer option.

Is DISA enabled? I've never used it, but my understanding of it is that it allows you to call in from an outside line and then dial out again from the phone system as if you were on-site. Maybe someone is doing that - staff or otherwise.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'lock 2 external calls together', but you could also do that by conferencing them.

I have checked the DISA flags but decided to take it off as I did consider that it could cause a problem.
The call issue seems to occur if the main Optiset user has more than 1 call on hold and then transfers the call to another extn. In effect, the 2 external calls end up talking to each other, but neither can clear the connection. The only way we've managed to cure the problem so far is to power down the switch. Given the time this takes you can understand my clients frustration!

Did wonder about the conference function, but to my knowledge they haven't used this function. That's not to say they haven't set it up by accident though.

Thanks for the input.

This usually happens when people start using the V key during a call (which functions as a recall on that moment). When a second call comes in or when this extension is in a pickup group the function changes.
I usually program 2 or more general call key buttons and a call waiting button. Teach the people to put people on hold using the call waiting button, for transfer they have to take the call back and transfer it with the call transfer button (the V key).
This usually eliminates the problem.

I use multiple general call keys, but didn't know about the call waiting button - I'll have to check that out. Thanks for the info.

conference a feature of each and every pabx system. it will be active in your system by default. by the feature "conference", according to your system setting, three or more people can talk each other, in which one person will be the conference leader, who can add/delete the other parties to/from conference.

check your telephone user manual for the activation code. it might be *3, i believe for siemens.
