Call Pilot Thru Dial by name and number issue

I am using a Thru Dial on my Auto Attendant application on Call Pilot version 05.00.41.82.

It is set for "allow dial by number or name"
The RPL is the same one I use for a test Thru Dial set to only "Allow dial by name"

The Thru Dial set for both does not let me dial names of people I know are setup in the system. I tested this by adding another Thru Dial using only the "allow dial by name". I can dial anyone in the system using it, but I have zero success dialing by name using the original option.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jack

Do you have the users mailbox item "Include in Directory" tagged?

UPDATE - Changed to two separate options, 1 for dial by name, and one for dial by extension

DocVic - The issue is that this does not work for anyone. It takes the key stroke to mean that you are dialing the number. It is as if the dial by name feature does not work at all when using the "Dial by name or number" option.

My only recourse was to split up the options into two separate options.

I don't have one in from of me right now, but when you setup the Dial-Thru, there is an option tab to use number, name, or both. If I remember, in the Properties tab of the Application that will set number, name... Somebody mentioned Happy Hour here today, and that's all I can think of... It's Friday...

No worries. I worked around it and will worry about it later. I am sure it has a bigger issue involving an improper CallPilot installation. It is FRIDAY and I am not going to fret anymore about it.

Thanks for your help,

Jack

When using dial by name and number, you have to use the dial by name prefix in order to dial by name. I believe it defaults to 11 but you can see it by going to Messaging/Messaging Management and look for Name Dialing and Addressing.
