I have a Call Pilot 3.1 that I am replacing due to a "No Resource" error occurring when trying to log in. I have regenerated all key codes and have repeatedly attempted to reload the backup. It begins the reload then errors out after about 5 minutes and puts a "5e.bad" file in my backup folder and indicates "the backup restore utility has encountered a problem and needs to close". I cannot even get the Call pilot out of backup/restore mode. Anyone ever seen this, if so; whats the resolution? HELP!

I am pretty sure "No Resource" is usualy fixed by replacing the Call Pilot itself (not the software).
While your at it make sure you are not using the 3 progn 9 volt power supply and replace with 2 prong 8 volt.

I am replacing the Call Pilot itself. The existing Call Pilot that has been running for 1.5 years has 8v 1.2 2-prong power supply. It performing the restore that is not working.

Not so sure you can restore to a different cabinet as different System ID etc.

Programming is on the software, it should have retained programming when removing from one cabinet and installing to new cabinet....did you do this?

No. I am trying to restore to a new cabinet and software. I have regenerated the keycodes from the old sys id to the new one. Screwy thing...I had a partial backup (about 50% of the data)for whatever reason it did not back up the entire database. That one loaded just fine, except it only had half of the data. I then got a full back up, initialized the CP, thats when the trouble began. I have a new back up I am getting ready to try.

Pen and paper, finger pecking on a phone. Sometimes it's the only way to solve weird trouble.

Gentlemen...thank you for your help...I GOT IT! The only thing I can attribute the trouble to is each prior backup I tried to load (I had the original and several updates as changes were made to the system) had been transferred to another device (IE thumb drive, emailed, transferred through a network). When I backed up the system then loaded from the laptop I performed the back from, it worked like a peach. Fluke...maybe, but I don't care, it works. May want to know this in the future if you run into the same trouble.

Nice

In other words the backup file does not like being transferred.
Although I think i read once the restore must be performed from the same PC that did the backup, maybe they should have been more decriptive.
