I am a Panasonic Dealer and don't have much nortel exp anyways we are connecting a call pilot 100 v2 to a CICS v6,we have programmed the KSU first then we connected the call pilot to 2 digital ports on the CICS Here's the problem we cant get the KSU to see the VM the two port indicators on the VM flash fast then dissappear. my question is do you have to tell the KSU what ports that the VM is using? Also do we need 2 ports for this unit to operate or just 1?

Thanks any help would be greatly appreciated

Do feature 985 ,that should get your vm dn number, If not power down both and try again.than you most int the cal pilot.

You may ini the pilot,by crossover to your lap top,or by phone.

Also make sure you have the software card in the back slot.
Dmac,

the card is in the back slot and we have tried serveral power up's still no response from the CP unit.does anyone know if you can connect via cat 5 even if the ports aren't connected?

Do you have enought ports on your CICS?
Are your 2 ports working?
Yes you can connect with a Cat 5E patch cord, from CP to a lap top, if it's not initialized I believe you need the cross over cable, if it is initialized, you can plug direct. Just enter the IP address from your web brouser. But you should also be able to enter it view Feature 983 with Sys Mgr mail box and pass word. 102000 defult on 3 digit extension. May be seen as basic stuff, but quite often an over sight.

Good luck

Have you waited long enough for the CallPilot to complete its own initialization. It takes good 5 to 10 minutes, sometimes 20 minutes for call pilot finish initilzation. If you "reinstall" the call pilot using feature 983, it may take really long time for that to finish.

I just found my CallPilot software CF card was bad, so I copied that to a new CF card and that seems fixed my problem. If you have continously the problem, you may want to try to get new software card, that may help, too!

Extremely slow. Just did a 150 w/ v 3.0 and it was at least 20 minutes to load after initialization

hook up a serial cable/ terminal and monitor where the CP is getting stuck ...

bootloader pblm
power supply problem
CF hardware problem
SW problem

You cant use a normal patch cord to connect, you must have a crossover cable from CP to Laptop

Thanks for the help we were used to panasonics tvp-50 vm which only needs a few minutes to initialize while we had to wait over 10 minutes for the CP to initialize.

thanks to all who responded
