I'm having an issue with a Call Pilot Mini (connectd to an 11C mini) that's driving me nuts...

I have set up the ACD-DN for voice mail access as 1990. I have set up 1900 as a phantom that forwards to 1990 for the auto attendant.

1900 is in the SDN table as Auto Attendant
1990 is in the SDN table as Voice Mail

When dialing internally - 1900 plays default Nortel prompt for auto attendant; 1990 plays Call Pilot prompt.

When dialing from externally (these are all DID's), 1900 plays custom auto-attendant, 1990 plays custom auto-attendant.

What do I need to do to get users dialing 1990 externally so that it answers with the voice mail prompt?? What's also really annoying is that if you dial 1990 at the auto-attendant, all it does repeats the auto-attendant again.

Augh!

call pilot mini is different from call pilot (201i, 702t, etx.)

you will only need an acd-dn (say 1990), you will not need the 1900 anymore.

it is true when you dial internally the nortel call pilot prompt would be played, and when you dial externally the auto attendant will answer.

it is just the way it is.

now to answer your question, externally dial the auto attendant, then press **, after which you will hear the nortel prompt.

cheers.

Well, 1900 is the main number so we need to keep that in place. I was able to create another phantom DN (1995)and forward that into the Call Pilot, and that worked OK. I gave our users that number for externally accessing call pilot.

Another item I need help on - how can I build the auto attendant so that the delayed response or revert dn just repeats? We don't have an attendant in this office and don't want calls from the auto-attendant going anywhere except a user's extension...

make the delayed response a new menu service, then use that menu service dn as the delayed response, you will not need a second number from the switch, i use the primary dn (exapmle) 6000 then make my new menu service 600001, 02 etc. just point any choice you need to that MS

Where exactly in Call Pilot Mini do you configure the delayed response of the auto-attendant?

The manual doesn't explain that succinctly...

that delay is a function of the switch, i gather your att has a few rings before the menu kicks in, change the number of rings before CFNA on the att station. about half of my auto-att are behind the att, you call the heart center, they have 6 rings before the call gets the auto att, most depts is set to 3, some depts anaswer all calls with the auto and never hear a ring until after the caller picks a dept or person.

There is no attendant setup on the PBX. So is call pilot sending the calls to the PBX attendant, and b/c there isn't any programming defined for one, it just puts the caller on hold?

I guess I need to whip out the NTP's and do some research on attendants...

build an acd 1234...(example) maxp=1 ncfw= voice mail dn, in the dn table put 1234 as a menu service and the menu service dn of your auto att, then define the att in the switch to 1234, that will send any att transfer tothe voice mail without delay, sounds like your timing out then going to auto, another thing is to make sure the digits the co sends you are directed in your switch, also make any inbound auto= yes in ther route and atdn= 1234 on the trunk

If I did this:

also make any inbound auto= yes in ther route and atdn= 1234 on the trunk

Wouldn't then all calls to my T-1 auto terminate to the attendant? This is a DID trunk so I want to make sure individual DID's route to the respective ext it's intended for.
