We have a CS1000 Option 11 PBX rls 4.0 with a CallPilot 201i rls 4.0 and we installed the PEPs and now we cannot login thru the CP Manager. The PEPs took and the system rebooted but now we cannot login. An error message comes up "An error occurred communicating with the server. Login Failed. [1]"

Any input will be appreciated

Did you install the latest CallPilot Manager PEP for Release 4? Post the PEPs you currently have on the server.

Is your callpilot working right now? Do you have backdoor to get to CP-manager incase like this happen?

The CallPilot is fully functional but we are unable to connect to the CP Manager or the Application Builder.

I have updated several servers to SU04S and G22C have never experienced this. Have you tried the default password for mailbox 000000? As SSJVirus007 suggests, have you tried logging in with a backdoor mailbox and password if you have one?

What is a backdoor mail box and password?

I tried 000000 and password 124578 and this did not work.

I always setup myself a mailbox with "Full Administrator Access" capability on all CallPilot servers I maintain. This way if the 000000 mailbox password gets forgotten or lost, I can use my backdoor to reset it rather than going through the Support Tools method. You would log into CP Manager with that mailbox number and password. I assume you didn't have one. If you get this resolved and can get into the system with mailbox 000000,I recommend you create a mailbox with "Full Administrator Access" capability or change your mailbox to have it.

Sorry I did not understand your previous thread. I do have a mail box with full admin capabilities and that does not work either.

Look at the CallPilot services and make sure they all started. I looked at mine for reference and they are all started except for CallPilot Resource Packages 2 through 8. Also verify IIS Admin Service and World Wide Web Publishing Service is started.

World Wide Web publishing services did not start up.

If I were you, I would perform another shutdown and restart. And I'm talking shutdown then reseat the 201i to power it back up. Check your services again after it comes up and see what you get.

On the manager login page does the server list box have localhost listed in it. If blank type it in!

Excellent point! Make sure the server name or IP address is populated in the server field under the Mailbox number and password fields.

I was aware of that and I did both ip address and local host.

Did you reload with the PEPs that came with the system when it was purchased?

John

The customer did not have the CD's with this system so we used the PEPS from another set.

Since we cannot enter the Manager to do a backup is there a way of extracting the messages from the C drive of the Call Pilot and saving them to restore to a new drive?

Hi Impala, i got the same problem after updating patches. You should compare SERVICES of CP server with working CP server services. Some services should be running and some should be disabled.
After comparing services with working CP i disabled some running services and ran some disabled services and got CP logon OK.
