Whenever I start outlook with the Call Pilot application installed and the BCM is not connected. (In other words the user has taken his laptop home and is disconnected from the office network) Outlook takes almost 20 minutes to start. Does anyone know how I can stop this for happening.

have you done any trouble shooting to point this at BCM?

Is BCM up to date with patches?

Install the latest version of Desktop Messaging client.

The other way is to ensure that the PC is not connected to a LAN or WLAN. It will time out after about 5 seconds, you can then click cancel at the reconnect message and then outlook will start. Then, reconnect to the LAN.

It sounds as if you have the call pilot set to auto login ticked when starting up outlook.

Set the call pilot to ask for the mailbox extn and password
when outlook starts up. untick auto login.
This way the laptop user can press cancel to stop call pilot running when they have there laptop away from the office.

Thanks to everyone who has responded so far. I'll take a closer look in a few days time....after the rush.

Merry Xmas

Summer holiday is over and its back to work..

The answer was pretty obvious and is as Magna and snowman have suggested.

It's our demo system that showed the problem and it had been defaulted but not repatched. December 2008 patches cured it and yes..the user was set to auto-logon as well.

Thanks
