I have a CallPilot 4.0 that won't do a scheduled backup. If I go to System> Backup restore it'll show the next scheduled backup but if I go look the next day in view back up history it's not there. Backup type is Full System Backup to primary server tape.
I can do backup now and this works great and shows up in the backup history.
Any suggestions??

kylesz71...when you look at the backup history does
it say operation failed or what?

Thanks for replying strmwalker,
Backup history only shows when I backed it up manually (backup now)doesn't show anything about scheduled backup failed or successful.
Also when I go to System> backup it shows the next schedule backup correctly for example Wednesday May 21 2008 2:00AM Central Time.
I've even tried to schedule a one time backup during the day so I could watch it. It would be in the scheduled list then when it came time to backup it would go of the schedule but nothing would happen. No history or anything!

kylesz71....its sounds like the scheduled backup is
not set up properly reason for saying is that you are
not getting the error saying that it failed.have you sat
there and watched the tape drive to see if it hits on
the scheduled backup?

Thanks for replying again strmwalker,
I just added a user archive schedule backup. Scheduled it to backup one time a few minutes after adding the backup so I could watch the tape drive no activity. Built another scheduled backup but did backup now can see actvity on tape drive. I would think if you check the backup you want and do backup now and it works while wouldn't the schedule work??

kylesz71....when you do the schedule backup under the
discription box you do have something say like full backup?
setup say to backup tomorrow at 06:00 am.see what happens

strmwalker,
Currently scheduled backup:
Description: Full System backup
Type: Full System Backup
Next scheduled backup: Thursday May22,2008 2:00AM CST
Frequency: Daily
Device name: Primary Server Tape

strm, are you suggesting a different time to backup or just the name.
Tried different times with no results.

Just wonder if this may needed to be rebooted??

I am not sure if this has any relevance but when i tried to do a manual backup of our callpilot server and the time was wrong on the server it came up and said unable to perform backup between midnight and 4am

try and set your backup time to a different time for instance ours runs every night at 8pm

Meridian Option 61C

kylez71...one problem is see is that the 02:00 am. thats
a no no backups cannot be done during those hours thats why
a said 06:00 am. 00:01 thru 04:00 is no good will not
work.

strmwalker & bombaytelecom ,
Thanks for the replies,
I've tried several different times and a couple of different types of backups during the day with no results.

kylesz71...can you logon at the server level go to start
then programs then callpilot and look at pep utility
and tell what peps you have on your callpilot server?

13 PEPS installed 7/26/06
PEP:CP40404SUO2S
PEP:CP404S01G11C
PEP:CP404S02G09S
PEP:CP404S02G10S
PEP:CP404S02G14S
PEP:CP404S02G19S
PEP:CP404S02G20S
PEP:CP404S02G21S
PEP:CP404S02G25S
PEP:CP404S02G26S
PEP:CP404S02G18S
PEP:CP404SECOO4S

PEP TYPE is showing TEMPORARY

kylesz71...you are way outdated on your peps if you have
access or can get access here are the peps you should
have and this might just fix your problems.i will give
them in the order they should be installed.
CP40404SU04.exe do not restart when wait until you install
the next pep.
CP500S02G23C.msi this is callpilot manager when done restart
the server.
this pep makes more room on your drives if you have a 201i
you will also have another step to do.
CPDSKPEP001s.msi when finished restart server.
now if you have a 201i server go to start ,programs,
accessories, system tools, disk cleanup leave what is already
checked alone and then check composed old messages.then run
disk clean up this will let you get the other two peps in.
CPSECPEP010S.msi when finished restart server.
CPSECPEPSP2S.msi when finished restart server.
this will help you out alot.

strmwalker,
Thanks for all your help. I'll give this a try and post the results.

Did the PEPs fix your problem? if not, is it possible that the date on the CallPilot is not correct?

Sorry,I haven't posted a fix yet. Still waiting on customer to decide to do the PEPS, doesn't want to take down the system for that long. They don't know if it's worth it when we can back it up manually everyday. This is in a hospital and they're using a application to answer the main number.

Danlwh,
Thanks for replying.
The time should be correct because it's showing the next time to backup in the backup schedule is today @ 9 pm .
Where do you suggested I look at the date n time?

Thanks,

kylesz71...the server only goes down when you reboot.now
with that being said say you have some odd ball trouble
and you have to go to nortel or your next level of
support the first thing they will ask you what peps
you have installed then they will tell you to call back
when your peps are up to date then they work with you.
