hi

Is it possible to set up the auto attendant (for the call pilot series) to accept any digit(s) and it be accepted and be transfered to a corresponding intercom number.

For example .. the attendant says "press 1 for maria, 10 for charles, 50 for James"

And the calls are sent to Maria at ICM 221, Charles at ICM 225, and James at 235.

Any help or info would be appreciated
Thanks

i think what you are looking for is a CCR (custom call routing) tree. if you have the cp cd there are instructions on building CCR trees. way to many steps to put on here.

the choices are 8 wide and 8 deep
1 thru 8 at main menu
then 8 submenus for each choice and so on

If you have it hooked up to a PC - it is easy to config with the CD docs

Yes we (myself and kalonji) have looked over the callpilot ccr options and have come to the same conclusion as senk1s. Thanks for the help. However, does anyone have a recommendation on what system can perform these tasks (taking a number and referring it to an intercom)?

Just re-record the AA greeting and tell the callers to dial the 3 digit extension x221 for john, x222 for jane, x223 for bob, etc....... And get rid of the CCR tree. The main AA greeting recognizes the tones when the three digits are pressed. CCR tree recognizes single digit tones. Hope this helps.

the only problem with that is that the caller will have to wait forever on the line to hear the extention of room 32, therefore i plan to use the ccr tree with sub menus, the greeting will say for example " to hear the extention for rooms 1 through 7, please press 1, rooms 8 through 15, press 2" hope this makes sense. thanks for the input.

that can be done very easily with Call pilot.
make your top menus, then offer the appropriate extension numbers under the appropriate menus. As long as you are willing to use the actual extension numbers, instead of the numbers 1-50, it will work just fine.

Do these rooms have mailboxes?

If so, just name the mailboxes the room number, for instance last name "1", and use the company directory (caller dials * at auto attendant). (My Call Pilot will let me use numeric names.)

polarbear85, that will not work because the auto attendant is programmed to ask the caller to type the lastname of the person they want to call in the company directory, if we could somehow change what silicon sally says then it would work great but so far i have not seen that being possible. once again, the best solution seems to be the one i mentioned earlier.

The callpilot should not allow you to program a mailbox with a numeric name as the company directory will not function correctly.

You could always spell the number (eg TWO instead of 2).

senk1 is right 1for rooms 1-8 then ccr says for john press 1=ext221 2for bill=ext 222 and 3for cindy- ext 223. at main 2for rooms 9 to 18 then 1 for rm 9= ext 230 and so on....
