Well we are moving from mail to call Pilot and my vendor tells me that we can move all the scripts in mail. Also he says it will be easier than mail was to build all though time of days etc.

My question is this ture and can some one tell be what is the same and what is different?

Thanks in advance.
George

What do you mean by "scripts"? If you can, give some more explanation, as I'm a little unclear. However --

If you are referring to auto attendants (menu services, announcements, through dials, time of day controllers, etc.) in Meridian Mail -- the recordings can be migrated, but the structure (that is, the auto attendant routing itself) does not migrate. In my opinion, unless it is imperative that you retain the same recordings, it is much much MUCH easier to rebuild and rerecord all those new in CallPilot.

If you are using Symposium (since this is posted in the Symposium forum) and referring to ACCESS and/or GIVE IVR, then you certainly can migrate your ACCESS mailbox easily. The GIVE IVR falls under my earlier paragraph, since those are announcements.

I would generally say the answer is no. You can't seemlessly migrate to Call Pilot from MerMail unless your scripts are entirely filled with only Open Session commands.

If you are using any Give IVR treatments and such which are specifically defined in the scripts then they will all need to be adjusted.

You could copy them and make the adjustments and then bounce the new scripts into the masterscript in place of the others.

That sounds too much like a "Sales" answer and not like a "Technician" answer you are getting from your vendor on that. Sure its "possible" but highly unlikely that it would require no work on the symposium side.

To answer exactly would be hard without knowing more which is why I would go ahead and question it.

Thanks all thats what I kind of though you are right it did come from the sales. Just like most of the time I find that there is ALWAYS more to it. Yes I was talking about all the Time of day at routes and announcements in the Mail. SO it looks like I will be rebuilding most things in the new call Pilot.

Thanks again The other question is how much like mail is Call Pilot i.e. does it have menus like mail etc.
Thanks

You need to get familiar with Application Builder. I would highly suggest getting a class on it though before developing. It is quite a different way to do things.

Your answer is yes there are menu's and such but its all part of the application builder.

Once you learn the Application Builder, you'll love it. Everything is on a "white board" and you drag and drop blocks onto it to connect (things like announcements, time of day, menus, etc.). No need to "nest" menus and announcements like Meridian Mail.

Thanks

Well sound good to me Mail was always a pain at times had no way to print scripts (flows etc.) Once again Thanks
