I have an inherited CP4.0 201I server in a CS1000 11c. CP has to be reset every 2 weeks as it is not accessable. I tried to load su4 to see if that would help. I get this message when I try to load SU04----- "d/nortel/mpcx/data/su03_rollbackDB.sql" could not be found. Checked the location and it is not there. Anyone run into this and advise. Thanks.

It sounds like you might have some corruption if it can't find files on the D: drive.

Make sure you have a good backup before you attempt anything. I would probably get your vendor involved if you don't have access to NORTEL.

good sugestion, might need to do a reinstall.. cp server should not need a reset more then once a year and that would be a stetch

It could also potentially be suffering from the 201i Virtual Memory issue.

I'd plan on a re-install and patch to current. If the unit is more than a couple of years old, I'd also be proactive and put in a new HD and keep the old one as an emergency spare.

jlk53...what slots do you have the 201i installed in?
and what peps are on the server now?

CP is in Slots 7/8. PEP's applied are
CP40404SU03S
CP404S03G07C

Thoughts?

You could try re-applying SU03 again and then put 04, but I have to assume you might get the same error....

jlk53..i thinks this will help you 100%
these are the PEPS you need.
CP40404SU03S.exe
CP404ACC001S.exe
CP404S03G07C.EXE
CP404S03G17S.exe
CP404S03G23S.exe
CP404S03G25S.exe
CP404S03G30S.exe
CP404S03G31S.exe
CPSECPEP008S.msi
thees pep more than likely will stop the server from
having to be rebooted every two weeks the G17S,G25S
G30S,G31S and the hotfix CPSECPEP008S.msi this pep
can take about an hour to run.

Thanks for all the assistance. This is great.
Triton101--Tried re-installing03 with same error.
9201-can't locate 05, only 04 but can't imagine that I wouldn't get the same error as 04.
strmwalker- SU03S is the one I tried to reload and got same error. 07 is in the d drive so I assume it was loaded. 17,23,25,and 30 are in SU04. Can't seem to lacate 31 and 008S.msi. I do not have access to the PEP Library as of yet so I cannot get them individually. Any ther suggestions? You guys are great.

jlk53...how are you tring to re install 03
did you remove it first or what when you load the pep
it should show up on the z: drive you double click
on it and unzips to the d: drive then you do the
install from the d: drive.

I did Start run and browse to the d drive andd found the pep and went to runme.bat. I did not see a Z drive only a c and D. I am going in thru Remote Desktop. Where should I see the "Z" ?

I would not insert any PEP or SU on Call Pilot using Remote Desktop. You should log in through the faceplate connectors using a PS/2 kb/mouse and VGA monitor. Nortel considers SU4 a replacement for all the earlier SU/PEPs. I installed SU4 on a 201i system that had crashed due to the virtual memory issue and haven't had a problem since. Also SU4 itself has been updated as there were some issues relating to integration with SCCS. Make sure that the vendor has the latest SU4 from the ESPL site.

jlk53..you should have a cd drive connected to and tanburg
tape drive this is connected to the 201i sever the peps
should be installed at the server from the cd drive
and it should be z: drive any time you put peps in
it should be done a the server level,

Thanks for the advise. I saw the Tanburg Tape Drive but did not see a CD. I will not get back to customwer till next week but will update at that time. Thanks again.

You can certainly install a PEP using RDP, but you need to enable the console mode to do it.

Start > run > mstsc /console. This is the IP equivalent of being at the keyboard and the system accepts it as such.
