I've purchased an OPT11C Ver 25.30 with a Call Pilot 1.07 201i for our office off of ebay. I've got the switch up an running fine but am having issues with the CP. I get no link light when I plug the ELAN into a linksys 10/100 switch. The CLAN gets a Link Light though. I've ran the configuration on the CP and verified the settings on the ELAN 137.135.128.100. See switch info below. I had to purchase the multi IO cable seperately (NTRH0912).

1. Can the cable be bad?
2. Can the backplane (Slot 10) be bad? Can I put into another slot?
3. Can the port be bad? Can I configure the CLAN as the ELAN?
4. What else can I check?

Thanks in advance...

just a thought..

do cp 1.07 support the multi i/o cable? or only that "modem-like" box where you plug the scsi, elan and clan?

i don't really remember, age is catching up on me. :)

It came with an IBM PC that has an external box with a floppy, cdrom keyboad & mouse connections. The power button is also located on this external box. The pc works and has an ethernet port on it. It's my understanding that the ELAN cable connects to this port and you use the PC to administer the Call Pilot 201i

The octopus cable needs to be on the left most slot. It sounds to me like you have a bad cable. Have you changed the patch cords or the coupler?

Elan from the PBX and Callpilot must go to a switch unless you use a cross over cable but I don't recommend this. You normally administer from the clan.

I think the "modem-like" box was for the 200i server. The 201i server did away with that. The ELAN cable and the PBX ELNK cable connects to the 10/100 hub/switch. One thing that concerns me in your post is you say you have the CP in slot 10. I thought the CallPilot 201i was only supported in slots 1-9, 11-19, 21-29, etc. My recommendation is to move it off of slot 10 and then troubleshoot from there.

I moved the card to slot 8 still same issues. Checked the CLAN it gets a link light on the switch but does not work (Cannot ping the gateway). The manual states the 201i can go in slot 1-9 due to needing dual power connections in the back. Looking at the card there is only one row of power/pin connections there is nothing that would connect to the power connections on the right side only the left. The system came pre-configures with 2008 acd sets built on ports 10-0 through 10-9. Any ideas?

Seems to me you have bad hardware, either the cable or the server itself. You could take a laptop and a cross-over cable and direct connect each of them together. Change your laptop IP address to be on the same network as the ELAN and CLAN and try pinging back and forth.
