I have a Call Pilot 100 and yesterday the lights on it went very dim.

From what i am being told no one can access their Voicemail.

I am assuming the power inside the unit is failing, if I get another Call Pilot can i just swap the cards or do i have to build this from scratch?

thanks

try changing the power supply.

My local engineer tested the power supply and it showing 8 vdc.

Is there an internal power unit?

thanks

We (all techs here) have swapped many power supplies where it appeared the existing ones worked but did not.
However dim lights is a new one to me but does sound like a mobo issue.

If you move the software card to the new unit then programming will remain however the key codes will not.
You can try and raise a case with Avaya to transfer the codes from one box to the other and ship them the old box back.
If any issues contact me through my site and I will try and assist.

The engineer had to take the picture in the dark. the lights are on 1 & 2 but nothing else.

Like I said try a new first. Cheaper and easier than replacing the CP. I've seen many that appear good but don't have enough juice under load.

Ok that does not look dim to me.
Replace the PS and test.

Guys,

Happy to report that the Call Pilot is back online with the new Power Supply.

Thanks everyone, you saved me a flight!

Over here on this side of the pond, it's always been the power supply that is at fault. I'm glad it is working again.

For future reference.. If your Call Pilot does happen to die (hopefully it never does!!), you can most likely* swap over your PCMCIA card into the new Call Pilot and all programming will be held. If you have more than 10 mailboxes, you will need new keycodes though.

*I saw most likely because if you happen to have a power surge or something, the card could get fried too.
