Can anyone tell me the advantage of upgrading a CP from the older releases to 3.1, other than the obvious. (newer s/w)

The first 1.5's had a nasty habit of crashing without recovery. Nortel determined the boot loader file was the culprit and wrote a v5.21 to replace the v5.19. It seems to me, most of the vm issues were resolved by 2.10.6, Call Center issues aside.
