Call Pickup line

I'm trying to program a short code which will enable my customer to pick up a held call from their dect cordless phones. They have all copper trunks with line appearances on all phones, line ID's 701-706. I created a short code = *88*N#, telephone# = N, feature = call pickup line. If I place a call and put it on hold and then go to another phone and dial the code (*88*701#), my display says call rejected. I've tried this from the Dect phones as well as other digital phones with the same results. Any ideas would be appreciated.

It might be worth checking call can not be intruded isnt ticked on the user?

You can't pick up held calls, you need to use Park :)

Well you can....but you need to make sure it's from that specific line only in this case, not viable usually :)

Will not work, as mentioned "Call Pickup Line" is on a per line basis (not extn) and uses the line appearance ID in the tel number field not the extn number as your code does :)

I've been doing a little more testing and have realized that it working but only on inbounnd calls. I'm doing it the same way for both inbound and outbound, putting the call on hold and dialing the short code *88* followed by the line appearance ID 701 but it only works on inbound. Very strange....but then again, it is Avaya.

As suggested by Armriddle, use parks. You can create an unpark short code (like 101,102, etc) and just go off hook and dial the code; faster than your method. By eliminating the line appearances (6), and putting in park (2 to 4, let's say), you free up keys for other uses.

 
I wish it were that easy. My customer has several sites with other phone systems that are set up that way and work. We are trying to change them over to the IP Office in most of their locations but they want them set up exactly as they are now.

Their other systems are old key systems or a newish system that is based on a key system (like the BCM) I'd wager. So it's not a fair comparison. The IPO will do loads their old systems wont but if you pick just one thing to make the comparison it's easy to pick faults and say "my old system did it" :)

am, I agree with you completely but sometimes the customer wants what the customer wants and you have to do your best to accommodate them.
