I can not get call pick up to work. All phones are in pick up group 1, but pick up does not work. I believe this is because calls are ringing a Ring group and not on individual phones. Is there a setup to pick up calls from a ring group if you are not a member. User does not want her phone to ring but need to pick up calls when busy. Using 1120 sets with F75 for pick up.

I don't think you can pick up a ring group call that way. F75 works for Nortel sets that are assigned in a given group and the set trying to use F75 must be a member.

You might want to try using F76 and the ring group number. Never tried it myself but it might work. You might even try the Asterisk directed pickup code ** plus the ring group number.

You could also put the sets in question in their own pickup group which would allow the use of F75. Just don't add that one set to the ring group. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work.

The "Pickup Group(s)" field in the extension's configuration identifies one or more call groups from which the extension is allowed to pick up. The call group to which the extension belongs is specified in the "Call Group" field.

It sounds like you configured all extensions to have "1" in the "Pickup Group(s)" field (that means all extensions will be able to invoke the Group Pickup feature - or F75 - for extensions that belong to call group 1), but you didn't mention specifying this call group in the Call Group field of these extensions.

Are you possibly missing the configuration of call group(s) for your extensions?

To achieve a configuration that would put all extensions into the same call group and allow them all use Call Pickup for any other extension in the same group, you'd have to put "1" into both Call Group and Pickup Group(s) fields for all extensions.

Thanks I have never seen seperate entries for pick up group and call group. You were right I missed puting set in call group. Works now.

Any idea how to pick up a call on hold at another set? Park works fine if the call was parked but I have a customer who wants to be able to pick up a call that is on hold at a known extension. Works on other PBXs. F75 only works if the phone is ringing and using F76 just gets a message on the screen saying pickup failed. Both sets are in the same call group and same pickup group.

Thanks

To retrieve a call that was put on hold by another phone, you'd have to use a shared call appearance. With SCA, anyone who has the corresponding SCA key can retrieve a held call.

Thanks. I'm talking about DID calls coming in on PRI or voip to the extension where SCA is just not practical.

I'm using a voip DID with a SCA and when it is put on hold anyone with that SCA can pick it up
