I am working on an issue with call park. We have attendant consoles, I only call them that cause they are used by our operators, they are built as 3905 phones in the pbx and interface to a pc with a console application. The operators are saying if they place a call on park, and the call exceeds the park timer, that it recalls only to the person that put the call on park and not back to the attendant queue. The operators said that the parked call used to ring back to the attendant queue instead of the person that put the call in park before the system was upgraded to RLS 7.0.

From what I can tell, after the parked call exceeds the park timer that it should recall to the person that put the call in park, this would be normal operation. I know that the documentation states that a parked call from an attendant, and I am assuming they mean am attendant phone programmed in LD 12, should ring back to the original user that put the call in park and if they are busy then it should ring into the attendant queue. Am I missing something or does this sound like it is working properly?

Usually when the documentation uses the term 'Attendant' they are referring to a user of an actual attendant console such as the M2250.

You can mimic some of the features and functionality by using a regular telephone set and manipulating some of the system settings, but there are a lot of features that cannot be 'tricked' this way.

That is what I thought so since these phones were 3905s, we setup an ACD queue with 2 3905s and called into it and put the call in park and low and behold the call was returned to the user that put the call in park, just like I told them it would. So we had a conference call with the company that isntalled the console software and it was an issue on their end. They made a couple of changes on their software and had the operators log out and in and everything started to work.

I just love that no matter what the problem is, it is always the PBX problem first and you have to prove to everyone that it isn't the PBX and that it is working the way it should be before they will look at anything else.
