Sorry to ask this in a blind forum, but I have no system available to test. Does anybody know if you can pickup a parked call of a slot in another system via a system short code using an IP trunk? Park slots are unique and the short code(unpark call) targets the IP trunk connecting the systems. This guy is killing me!

ie......A call comes into City "A" and is parked on that system, the receptionist calls a target in city "B" and tells the target to "pick up" call on park slot 99. The target part in turn needs to dial;

Code-#9101
Feature- Unpark Call
Number- 101
Line- 17 (IP SCN Line)

Any thoughts or ideas would be great.

PS> MPLS connectivity-SCN in place-parking a call against an extension (slot 0 thru 4)is not going to work.

Thanks,
Dan

That's what I figured but thought that would reach out to you guys in the event that anybody had been able to come up with and idea. Thanks for getting back to me so soon. I will try some stuff in the morning and let you know how I make out.

Thanks,
Dan

PS> stop laughing! I will find a solution for this guy :)

Had a customer looking for this and the closest thing I could come up with was a transfer to a conf bridge to site B, and the site B user would dial the conf brige # to talk to the person.

Not really a great work around, but it was the only decent solution. You can make it fairly user friendly with creative shortcodes.

You can emulate that using groups, create a group on site B with queuing enabled, vm disabled and no members.
The user in location A transfers the call to group on site B, a user on site B can do a call pickup on that group.

Yep, do what intrigrant suggested, I've done it for a 5 site SCN and it works and is the best emulation solution. I even used group buttons on the phone that will flash showing the "parked" call that the user can hit to pickup the call.

I use the groups solution when necessary, but it isn't perfect, shuts the customer up most times though :)

indeed, and that way they can have hold music too by setting the announcement timer to 0 or 1 second.

Create a short code for parking at all sites. Then create codes to use at your site, that go through the IP trunk and dial the park codes at the other site.

Drawback is you can not see the call after you park it, and I am not sure where it will ring back to???

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I have not been able to get back to the site due to weather but I will next week and let you know what I come up with.

I am dealing with doctors here, and although I agree that your solutions will work, the boys in white may be overwhelmed. The process that I already have in place (but need to test) is along the lines of telecomtekperson's idea. I have "unpark call" shortcodes in place and I am thinking that they can pickup the call via the SCN trunk using the specific shortcode assigned to the remote site. Site "A" has park slots 101-106 and Site "B" has slots 111-116. Supervision may be lost (heck....it may not work at all) but I love trying screwed up things.

Thanks guys and I'll let you know what happens.
