Hello,

The company I work for bought a company who had just installed an Option 11C -- RLS Sucession 3.0.

I was told that they could "Park" and inbound call, and that works fine, but they can't "Park" an outbound call.

I haven't really worked with "Park" that much, but I've been told that they should be able to "Park" an outbound call.

I'd appreciate any information or suggestions.

Thanks,
Dale

have you tested that? if you can't park an outbound it has to be a cdb option.. i just tested that on my 3904 and park works the same on outbound.. i've never seen a switch that would not allow that

i'm confused...

An INBOUND call is someone calling INTO the BUSINESS. Let's say INBOUND call goes to the operator, looks for someone, then the operator PARKS the call. Whereas an OUTBOUND call is someone calling from inside the business to the OUTSIDE world. Why would you park an outgoing call? don't they usually just press the access code (usually "9") to dial out?

Do you call out over the same route that calls come in on? If not does the outgoing route have supervision?

"Have you tested that?"

No -- An engineer at my location said it's been tested. He also tried it on our Lab switch (RLS 4.5) and said it works.

"Why would you park an outgoing call?"

I'm not really sure. Possibly they have the receptionist establish the call for them.

The engineer says outgoing in incoming calls use the same route. I logged in -- they have two COT routes on the switch -- both have supervision programmed.

The site uses copper trunks. We're going to install a PRI. That might take care of the problem.

Thanks,

Can you tell me where in the CDB to look for settings. Same problem, outbound off network calls can't be parked.
Thanks
