Is it possible to pass the caller name on a QSIG trunk? I have a QSIG trunk connecting my 61C to a Cisco 2811 router. The 61C is the net and the Cisco is the usr. The 61C dchannel will not allow me to change the RCAP to ND2. It also will not allow me to change the route NCNA and NCRD to yes. I can make inbound and outbound calls, problem is no name is attached, just the extension. Any ideas?

Still the same issue. However, I need to be the controlling switch, so my SIDE is set to NET, not USR. Other than that, it is the same. Does anybody know the difference between NDI and ND2? It errors when you try to set RCAP at ND2, but not NDI. Also, is there something special to allow the trunk setting of NCNA or NCRD? This is not even an option when configuring the TIE ISGF trunk.

That didn't seem to make a difference for me. Can you please print your config (route & entire dchannel)?

I'm using a CDP DSC. No where to set the CLS. If the name were being passed, wouldn't it show up when I do a MSGO on the dchannel? I'm only seeing the extension. I've tried all the configs I've seen on this forum, and never seen my name passed on the MSGO. I'm almost ready to give up:)

you're not going to see name on the dch trace.

there a patch for name display over qsig...I'll see if i can find the patch number

the patch is 19510 and applies to all pbx release 4.0 and lower. patch might help and might not, can't hurt...

QNDS: No QSIG name display on tandem call from MCDN to QSIG if IDC is configured on incoming side.

Try to change a dch monitoring level in LD 96
.set msgo 9 mon 2

Then
.enl msgo 9

Look at GFFAC field for name ASCII codes.

rcap nd1 or nd0 sends name.,, cls is set on the trunk but names do not need a cls mark.. and msgi will send the name.. one thing i did not read.. after you change a rcap or the d.. you have to dis msdl x all then enl msdl x fdl or that change will not take affect..

the msdl needs the download sdl100.. be carefull on the dis msdl x all.. do a map msdl command prior to downing the card..

I'm going to try these changes after hours since I need to dis msdl. I'll let you know how it went on Monday. Thanks for your help.

Hey RahjiSupreme. Did it work for you? I have a similar problem. Some pbx techs told me that here are 2 types of QSIG packages. one is basic, and the second is more advanced. They told me the advanced QSIG will pass the name through. I'm not to sure about that. does anyone else know??

How do you check what QSIG package you have?

MondoMan3,
Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to make the changes. It's still on my to-do list. I'm preparing for an upgrade from 3.0 to 4.0. You can print the packages in LD 22, but I'm not sure what the difference is in the basic and advanced QSIG. Anyway, I figured if I can get this to work, I'll turn it on after the upgrade. It'll be a nice perk for those executives that they can "see" after signing that $$$ P.O!
