Microcall interfaces with any phone system that outputs call data via Serial Output (cable connection), IP Output, or Output to a Database/File.
Serial Output (Cable Connection)
Microcall connects to phone systems that output call data using an RS232 cable connection. One end of the cable plugs into the SMDR (or CDR) port of the phone system and, the other end of the cable plugs into the serial port on the Microcall computer. This cable connection is typically used for phone systems that do not output call data via IP.
Call Data Output via IP
Microcall captures call data from phone systems that output call data via IP. Microcall is installed on a computer connected to your Network and automatically recognizes your phone system's IP address. Data collection takes place over the network via IP. Phone systems like, Avaya 8300/8700 as well as some versions of Nortel, Inter-Tel, Mitel and, Siemens output call data via IP.
Call Data Output to a Database/File
Microcall captures call data from phone systems that output call data to a database and/or a file. Microcall is installed on a computer connected to your Network and automatically retrieves the call data from the database and/or file. Phone systems like Cisco Call Manager, output call data to an SQL database; whereas, phone systems like Avaya Definity One, output call data to a file.
