Is there a way to monitor an expecific extension for calls made and received?

The question is regarding an employee tha we would like to monitor for using the phone for personal calls.

We have a Mitel 3300 ICP, Software version: 9.0.3.15

It seems that we are not able to see the incoming numbers, is there a way to check who is being calling an especific extension also if the extension have a DID can we also track the incoming calls on a DID?
 
incoming calls may need to be enabled

Check the COS of the trunks for SMDR options.

Also check the SMDR options form.

Which option should I be looking for?
Everything on the form it seems OK, the only options that I can think it needs to be change is:

Standardized Network OLI
Standardized Call ID Format
Both are currently set to No.

Other then that the report incoming calls is set to yes.

Ok, Sorry, I think I may have mis-read your post @ 27 Sep 11 17:53.

What I am reading now is that you are able to see incoming calls to the Extension but you do not see the Caller ID of the caller.

ANI and DNIS numbers can be up to 10 digits in length, and are recorded for incoming calls on ANI/DNIS trunks.

COS option ANI/DNIS reporting must be enabled

When I run the report I can see the incoming calls but in a weird format, like trunk numbers and some other number. What we would like to see is the actual number or Caller ID.
I have checked the ANI and DNIS option on the COS, it was OFF. I just enabled it, I will re test see if we can see the actual number now.

Post an example of your "Weird Format"

use tags at beginning and end to format the text properly.

Start with the Tag [ignore][tt][/ignore]
Then paste the text
Then end with the Tag [ignore][/tt][/ignore]
e.g.
1 22 333 4
11 222 3 444
111 2 33 44

becomes
[tt]
1 22 333 4
11 222 3 444
111 2 33 44
[/tt]

Believe it or not, other than the tags, the 2 examples above look identical before posting.

This is what I got:

The first line is an internal call I received from an extension. You can see the extension number was 176.
The second line is an external call made from my cell phone to my DID which is coming to my extension 361, when I called I can see the correct Caller ID on my phone but not on this report.
The last line is an external called I made from my phone, here you can see the number I dialed.
What we would like to see is the incoming caller ID. Is anything else we are missing, some setting?

I'm not sure, this is not something I typically scrutinize. It looks more like you might have something enabled that shouldn't be.

According to the help docs.

When "ANI/DNIS/ISDN/CLASS Number Delivery Reporting" is enabled in the SMDR Options form, the SMDR record is extended to 112 characters.

Char 92-101 = ANI
Char 103-112 = DNIS

I can't quite tell but your record looks to be in Excess of 112 characters. This leads me to believe you have options enabled that provide different information that does not include ANI/DNIS.

Specifically
When "Standardized Network OLI" is enabled in the SMDR Options form, the SMDR record is extended to 131 characters:

I think you may have too many things turned on in SMDR and some options being mutually exlusive are preventing the data you wish.

I have changed the MSDR option in my system to match yours. Still having the same results.
One thing I could not enable was the SMDR real time, it said that I have to configured the port. ???

As per your previous question

Do you have CLIP enabled from your network provider. If you dont the network provider will not send the CLI of the calling person, and from your smdr logs it doesn't look like you have!

 
Can you verify what type of trunks you are using?
If you're using CO trunks then verify the trunks are connected to embedded ports or ASU. Then verify that the trunks COS has ANI delivery turned on.

From your SMDR record it doesn't appear that you are receiving Caller ID. If you're using CO trunks then you can put your Butt set on the line, call in and you should hear a brief burst of data between the 1st and second ring. If not, contact your carrier.

If you're using PRI, go to the maintenance prompts and enter
CCS Trace en cont
Then call in. You'll see a bunch of data coming in. One of the records should show your Caller ID. Do this from your cell so you can easily pick out the number you called from. If you don't see your cell, contact your carrier.

Guys, I know the thread is getting long but he has already stated that when he makes a call from his cell to a phone he can see the caller ID of the caller.

The Caller ID is not showing up in the SMDR.

I have try the options setting from dryaquaman. I had the same results as before.
It seems that is something else than these options. To be honest I am not sure if we ever going to make it work. Our former Mitel guys where not the best, so I am not sure how they setup things.

If you guys can think of any thing else please let me know.
