Install Delta Server, under CCC I think, and tick the SMDR tab to save the files it will create.

There is also a smaller application called SMDR, bigjohn. There is a folder on the admin CD called SMDR, look for the setup.exe in it. You can install in anywhere on the LAN.

The SMDR client provides some nice graphing features, but doesn't appear to provide a complete glimpse at the call logging info stored in the .CSV file.

Does anyone know of any third-party software or tools out there which provide some simple (or complex) reporting capabilities, which delve a bit deeper into the .CSV file (i.e. total call time for particular rep in relation to specified number, etc.)

It would be nice to be able to run reports at select intervals, which provided details as to rep and associated call volume. Not to be confused with SMDR which yes, allows for graphing based upon an “agent” but again – I see no way to show association to specific phone numbers, etc. I’m figuring someone has tailored an Excel macro or something to extrapolate more than that which SMDR provides. Many thanks to those willing to share~

under 2.0(18) smdr is now only part of CCC and cant be installed seperately

to get SMDR output under V2.0 - install deltaserver only
this does nmot require a licence for smdr output.

There are many 3rd party call accounting packages (which is what you're asking for) out there that will analyze the smdr.csv file and tell you all kinds of cool things.

However - it is really pretty straightforward to do excel based analysis. I've pulled out all kinds of interesting details without resorting to macros (standard spreadsheet database functions and graphs). However, I've never set out to create a generic analysis tool, all my stuff is customized to particular client needs. As such it's propietary to the client, and I am unable to share it.

How well do you know excel? dget, dsum, dcount, etc (the criteria based database functions) are your basic tools, if you know them I'm sure you can put something together pretty easy. Ask if you need help.

Or do a search on the internet for "call accounting software"

:)

Be aware that deltaserver 4.0.29 is already better than the previous versions but it still contains errors. We have recently developped a call reporter application for the Netherlands and run into a lot of issues with the SMDR output. In fact, while trial testing version 2.1 we have reported severall errors with respect to the SMDR behaviour to Avaya and they have confiremd these errors.

That's good to know, dencom. Do you have an opinion on which version of delta server is most stable if ONLY using it for SMDR output?

Has anyone tried using the old SMDR application to collect records off a 2.x switch?

Peter

I can confirm that the old SMDR application WILL NOT work with V2.0

4.0.29 is a 'good' version which has some improvements compared to all previous versions but Avaya still needs to do a lot of work. While developping our Call Reporter application (which provides detailed reporting on extension, huntgroup and account codes) we had to write software to correct the SMDR information while importing it into our own database.
We also have a 5.0.X release and that one is much better. Not only does it run as a Windows Service, it finally registers the dialled number field the way it should. I hoped it would be included in release 2.1 but it isn't. We'll have to wait for CCC 5 which should be released soon. Then again, we all know what Avaya means with soon.

Arnoud are you looking for beta sites and/or distributors for your software? If it works well and is priced right we might present it to our IP Office customer base.

Peter

Peter,

We are in fact considering to make an international release. In the Netherlands, Crane is our distributor. I'll be more than happy to dicuss possibilities.
Just send us a email via callreporter.nl and I'll get in touch.

I've seen Veramark's eCAS lite do a great job on the reports. It's a little slow to install, and traditionally overpriced, BUT, it WORKS. The reports are accessible from a browser, and intelligently configured. Most of the time, the ease of use justifies the cost when you consider the development hours you would hvae to spend in Excel for the same kind of reporting.

I also have used Veramark eCAS lite. It is a great program, although the downfall with IP Office is that you only are able to view YESTERDAY'S call records. It uses the Backup file which is generated every night at midnight. I talked with Veramark and they said they are working on a fix. We'll see!!!!!!!

Does anyone have an update for this? I installed my first IP Office with eCAS and ran into the same problem. Delta Server makes a file every night and names it with the date. eCAS would not let me point to the entire folder but made me select a file, which of course only has one day of info. Any ideas would be appreciated.

DS (.35 for sure I think .29 had it too) now includes the ability to output call records via a com port on the PC it's running on. Good old fashioned SMDR port :)

Peter

If anyone is wondering, I have the answer on the eCAS side of things. The file path that eCAS looks at to grab the data should end with "\SMDR(.csv". This somehow took the individual files from the SMDR and made them into one complete file. Hope this helps someone out there.

Has anyone verified that PHins711 method works? I can't seem to get mine working.

TIA,
Glen
