Tech Question :

How would i Know if the Call logging port is enabled ( if not how does one enable it ) also where is the actual port found on the switch ? what sort of connection would be used to connected to a pc running the call logging software

Many thanks ...

go into ld 37 and type stat tty

you'll get something like this...

>ld 37

IOD000
.stat tty

TTY 0 : ENBL DES: XSM
TTY 1 : ENBL DES: CALLLOGGER
TTY 2 : ENBL DES: SYSTEM
TTY 3 : ENBL DES: SYSTEM
TTY 4 : ENBL DES: RACE
TTY 5 : ENBL DES: maint
TTY 9 : DSBL DES: OTM_PTY_0
TTY 12 : ENBL DES: RbHseFlr3
TTY 13 : ENBL DES: TRACKER
TTY 14 : DSBL DES: OTM_PTY_1

if yours is disabled then type enl tty x where x is the call logger tty

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

prt
type adan tty

CTYP QSDI
GRP 0
DNUM 1
DES CALLLOGGER
FLOW NO
USER CTY
XSM NO

do you have any that say CTY in yours?

Yes under tty 1 , details are

Ctyp SDI2
Dnum 1
Des
User mtc sch CTY
xsm no
TTYlog

hows that ? would this be used as my remote terminal conection ?

If there are no others with CTY then this is your call logging port.

You'll need to find the cable that corresponds to this TTY.

what switch is this?
