We just moved a CICS Norstar and the customer used to be able to see and/or scroll through the numbers captured. They subscribe to caller ID on line 1 only.

My problem is that when I turn call log on it doesn't capture or display the caller ID incoming. The manual isn't very helpful..

Any thoughts?

Ya know, that's the funny thing about Nortel manuals, they're written in Nortelian. It's more like a research project, some info is here some is there. What ya gottta do is somehow get it all together, (sometimes used to I make photo copies then paste them together to get all the common info on one page), then you have to read between the lines and attempt to program a live system with the information you have gathered. If have the opportuinity to stay with the product as it evolves and study the books you'll be able to read right through those books and pick it up alot quicker. It is truely a fine product.
By the way, did you assign some LOG SPACE to those sets?
Good luck and Merry Christmas.

For the set to log calls, 1.The line must ring on that phone 2.Caller ID set must be (Y) and Call log set (Y) under the Telco features heading for the specific set, and 3.Log space must be assigned to the set. There is a log space of 250 system wide. A value of 25 for the set will allow a list of 25 callers in the log, for example. Feature 812 will display the log and allow you to scroll thru to save or delete callers. Feature *84 allows you to set the logging options, and Feature *85 lets you password protect the list. The CICS System Coordinator Guide has excellent instructions on this feature.

Did you tell it also to log all calls? The default is to log only unanswered calls. You have to go in to system programming; terminals and sets. Choose your extension (DN), then look for the heading User Preferences. You'll find the Call Log option defaulted to log calls when NO ONE ANSWERED. Change to log all calls. Voila!

Thanks for the tips. After much noodling through various menus it all came together.
