Ok, I know I am overlooking something but here is what i have. I have 3 phone lines. Line 1 and line 2 ring at ext 221 and 222. And are answered by NAM. Line 3 is the fax line which i have set up with a ata, and the lines are set not to ring at 221 and 222 just at the fax extention. However, after about 2 rings the display on ext 221 says
xxx-xxxx to prime and the phone rings for 2 rings then the fax answers. I also need the fax to ring a couple of rings for the caller id to record.
any ideas?

Go to lines and for line 3 make the prime set the same DN as the ATA.
Also check your DRT timer and make sure it set to 6 or up so it does not interfere with CFNA or AA etc.

As for 2 rings you must do that in the fax machines programming....actualy ATA does not support Caller ID.
Best to loop fax line to the trunk port then to the fax machine however you wont see if the line is in use or not.

nope that doesnt help. i also have a private line that is set on ext 222 but after a couple of rings it also rings at ext 221. I have the rings set at the phone for 6 before they transfer to the vm ext. and vm set to answer at 4

Then set Trasnfer Call Back to 8 rings.

Set the FNA at 222 to 4 rings and not 6 just as a test?

Double check your fwd on busy settings, too.
