Something else a little funny in V3. Answer a call either inside or outside, place it on hold using the regular HOLD button. Now dial another extension, i.e. if you are trying to find someone and you need to hang-up and maybe dial another extension all the while the original call is holding - sounds all normal - especially in the small business environment like with Partner. Well guess what, the original call placed on hold will transfer automatically to the first extension you dialed as soon as you press the switchhook. The only way to keep this from happening is by pressing the call appearance that the orginal call is holding on, or pressing a Drop button if programmed.

Anybody else have any input on this?

Update! Sorry for the alarm - it's only happening on 1 4412D+ set - must be something faulty with the phone. Others seem to be fine. Whew!

Check the number of call appearance buttons assigned to that phone. The behavior you describe is typical for a phone with no call appearance buttons.

The number of call appearances is 3. It was definitely the set - haven't been able to get it to happen again unless I use that particular set.

thanks

?Does the behaviour travel with the set, ie. if you plug it into a different port - if so then very perculiar.
