We have a Norstar KSU/PRI MICS 5. Handsets are M7310.

The Call Fwd. button works on half, but not on all. How do I get it to work on the ones that do not? They all prompt me "foward to:" but I get "Invalid number" on the bad half. I have to use 9 to dial out. So on the good half I hit 9 + the number, and the other half I get "Ivalid number" dialing 9 or any number for that matter.

TIA

Allow redirect on the extensions that aren't forwarding under Terminals&Sets/Capabilities.

That worked. But then i have a new problem. I wanted to fwd some phones to cell during some construction, so I need the phones unplugged. Once I unplugged, then I get

"Not in Service"

If dialing their extension.

if you have a set in the phone room give it and answer dn of the set you want to unplug ,(and turn the ringer down)
now the ext will ring even if the set is unplugged

just not sure if the forwarding will stay

HALLOWED ARE THE ORI

If you use Feature 84 (line redirection), that will remain in place when the phone is unplugged.

Make sure you keep good notes on where you've used it, though.

Rik,

Thanks so far. Having trouble with Redirection. Only seems to affect calls from outside, so inside calls aren't redirected. SysCoord.pdf seems to indicate this is by design. And the calls from outside aren't really redirected in my testing. I tried on 2 phones including the one on my desk.

I do Feature 84

> SELECT A LINE OUT

I hit one of my intercom buttons.

> ENTER DIGITS

I type 9 + my ten digit home number. OK

> SELECT LINES

I answer ALL, then a triangle appears upper left. I say OK.

> PROGRAMMED

I call my office number from my cell. I hear short rings at my desk. The phone rings about 6 times, then disconnects. I never hear my home voicemail.

Same stuff happens on another office phone.

So redirection isn't working. I haven't even been able to test redirection with the phone unplugged yet.

Redirection is designed for lines, not extensions. I was assuming you were using DID's. (Or maybe I just wasn't thinking.)

Are the lines you're redirecting programmed to ring at your desk? If they are, then it sounds like you may have an issue with the routes.

If f84 isn't a viable option for you, then you could always wire a jack in the phone room, move your phone there, and f4 it to your cell.

That's easier to keep track of, anyway. A jack is only $2 at the hardware store, and when construction is done, you just have to punch the jumper back down to the station cable.

Yes DID's. Someone dials a 10 digit # from an external phone, and it rings to the desk, or we dial internal extensions. There are 6 phones I need to forward any kind of call to cell phones, so do I need to wire up 6 phones, or can I do all 6 to 1 phone in the phone room? Thanks.

Assign all DIDs to one phone then start the redirect process for each DID.

Note if you have a RAD for this system you can use it too, dial in remotley and use Telset/Remote Set Tool and do same as above.

well, since redir didn't work on phones plugged in, and troubleshooting routing didn't sound fun, I'm going to use my phone companies web gui to redirect outside calls, and go without fwd internal extensions. Thanks for everyone's help. I learned something. We're considering replacing the system with at trixbox... Any opinions welcomed.

well, since redir didn't work on phones plugged in"
???
The system is most capable of doing so.
Also if you have some phones that work and some dont then why not match the programming?

I suggest to call a tech/vendor in and sort it out.
