Hello All,

We currently have an 800 number that our customers call and after hours I have it fowarding to an internal extension which then fowards the original call to the 800 number to a cell phone for our on call staff.

The problem we have is that the number that is showing up on the cell phone is our Definity switch number. We would like to be able to foward our customer's number from which they called the original 800 number.

We are using a G3 R9 v5 Definity software.

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

Generally speaking you can do something like this on a PRI (maybe SIP trunks too), however most local carriers in the US will restrict you to only present a number local to the trunk group the call is routing on while on LD only trunks they seem to be more lenient.

Some things to check:
Is this call coming in with CID and routing out on a PRI(or SIP trunk)?
Is the PRI a local PRI or is it LD only?
Is the PRI configured with the carrier to allow CPI (Calling Party Information) control?
Will the carrier allow CPI presentation of a number not local to the trunk group?
Check the option {Send Connected Number = y} on the trunk group form.

I hope this helps

Right now when someone calls using the LD PRI, our operators only see the following:

A=Qwest 1A09

Which is only the position of the T1 of the incoming call in the A cabinet.

So our operators never actually see the customer's number in their caller IDs to begin with.

Hope that might shed a little more light.
