I have a user that is having her calls forwarded to her home phone. If you call her home phone directly the voicemail works fine, but if she has a call forwarded from our Nortel system it gives the caller a busy signal and disconnects them without a chance to leave a message. I have no idea what is causing it. Any advice?

If I was doing this for my company and wanted to make life easy for me, I would Change her DID number on her phone to a Non-DID number and then build an ACD Queue in LD 23 using her DID number, MAXP 1, NCFW ACODNXXxxxx. This is the way I do all my Temp and Perm forwards outside the system, I don't have to worry about someone using her phone and releasing the Forward on me.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

good idea, but I can't do that because she comes in to the office from time to time. Thanks for the advice.

ace,

If I were to setup the DID as you suggested would that change anything concerning how calls go from our system to her home phone. Sorry, I am new at this so I don't really understand what you suggested. The guy I work with said it wouldn't work because she needs the phone here, but in light of the situation they have decided that losing the phone at the office is acceptable if it gets the calls forwarding properly. Thanks for working with me on this and I apologize for my ignorance.

We all have to learn somewhere sometime, so don't be sorry.
There are several ways to do it. The reason I use the ACD option is because if you leave the DID number on the phone and forward it to the ACD Queue, someone may come along and use the phone and unforward it.

If you don't need her phone, then out it and this will free up her DID number to use in building an ACD Queue with that DID number.

Where I don't show anything below just hit enter until you get the prompt I have listed.
LD 23
REQ NEW
TYPE ACD
ACDN xxxx use her DID number here
MAXP 1
NCFW 9and her home number

See if this works and if not let me know and we will work from there to make the other changes you may need.

awesome, this takes care of it, thanks

Only problem is she comes in the office where did her DID number go for her office phone???

They can always NCFW the ACD to another phone when she is in the office, don't make this any harder then it needs to be.

Make it any harder... Heck to me having to go in everytime she wants to be in the office and changing the NCFW is harder...but that is just me...

Yes that may be harder for you or me, but were talking about the person that asked the question.
