Hi Mitel Experts,

Heres one for you all...

We've currently got one DDI number, acting as a multi-call on seven handsets, all with extensions only (ie, no direct DDI access). When the DDI is dialed, all the handsets ring as we've put multi-call buttons for that number to appear on the 5212 handsets. There is no handset with the DDI as its prime line.
What we want to do is put two buttons on one of the extension handsets to enable the main DDI to forward to another number, from what I can see the only way to do it from the handsets is to do
Step 1 - Call Forward I Am Here to bring the DDI to that handset
Step 2- Forward that Handset out to whichever number we need

Question 1) Is there a better way to do it?
Question 2) Can the Call Forward I am Here and the Forward Number be done in one programmed SpeedCall button, ie, **8 <main DDI extension> immediately followed by *8 <number to divert to>

Thanks

J

System Type!!!!! Software Version!

If this is a 3300, then you can use Third Party Call Forward.

If a 200 you will need to program on a port.

Something else, who knows.

Mitel 3300mxe, running version 8 of the OS.

Can a Third Party Call Forward be assigned to a speeddial and therefore a button on the handset?

Yes.

I've done it many times.

To save keys however you might want to create a speed call such as:

If DN = XXXX

**XXXX = Turn on forwarding (system speed dial dials required digits)
##XXXX = Turn Off forwarding

This is simple enough for most users to understand.

Ok, I understand that that will bring the DDI (currently not the prime line of any of the handsets on the setup) to that particular handset, but then I need it to go somewhere else after that, so its forwarding twice...

from DDI -> handset -> out to an external number

so, your instructions only cover the first bit then

No, you do not understand.

Call forward 3rd party allows you to forward the Multicall DN to any valid destination you choose, from any set that is allowed to do so.

A speed call can be used to simplify the dialing for the user or eliminate user error.

The speed call can be programmed as a key on a phone or designed to be simple to remember.

Required Elements:
FAC for Call forward 3rd party
COS options enable Third Party Call forward.
DN to forward (DDI in this case)

Optional:
System Speedcall to dial forwarding digits
Keys programmed with speed dial.

Maybe this will make it clearer:

To forward using 3rd party:

Dial FAC
Dial DN to Forward
Dial Destination of forward (internal or external)

Ok, I think understand, lets say the extension I've got (with my DDI coming into the system is 1234. I want to forward to 5678 (for arguments sake, an external line), so I'll set a speedcall up...

**67123495678

Any pauses required in there anywhere?

Assuming
**67 is the 3rd party fwd FAC
1234 is the Multicall line

**6712345678

I'm not sure why you placed the 9 in there.

The 9 was for the outside line in my example.

Programmed it all up (had to change some COS but its all good) and works perfectly,

Cheers

Heres another spanner in the works question...

Can you do what we've done already (activate the Call Forward Third Party Mulitcall to External number option) with the Call Forward After X number of Rings as well?

Jason

Busy / No-Ans needs to be done with fixed routing. Cannot be done on the fly.
