Call Forwarding Keeping Original CLI

Hi,

We have a customer who wants to call forward to a mobile, and be able to see the original incoming CLI. I have always been told in the past that this isnt possible, but I have been researching it and have found two possible solutions.

One seems to be "Partial Rerouting", which is turned on in the PRI settings in Manager; according to thread940-1600332 in the UK this is know as Customer Controlled Call Forwarding - does anybody know if this is correct? According to BT Openreach you have the choice of Call Forwarding Unconditional, Call Forwarding on No Reply, and Call Forwarding on Busy - so would this be set up at the exchange or on the system? Surely if it simply followed the call forwarding on the system, whether it be Unconditional, Busy or N/A, the exchange would not need to know about it until the system actually forwarded the call, therefore these options would be irrelevant? Is the forward number set up on the system? Is it done on an entire ISDN or per DDI basis? Or in other words, if I forward my phone to my mobile, is anybody else affected?

The other option seems to be CLI Type 4 used with Mobile Twinning, and the option selected under System --> Mobility to support this - unfortunately our call provider has never heard of "CLI Type 4"; might it be called anything else (in the UK)? Can this work with call forwarding (using an ss/ssi short code maybe)?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you,

IIRC it is type 5 & should be available from BT provided you sign the necessary disclaimer (I Have at least 1 customer with this)

Ok, thanks. Good to know that it will work.

The definitions I have are:

Type 4
A1.7. A presentation number available for the onward transmission of the originating number where a call breaks into a private network and breaks out again before termination, as in a DISA scenario. On the break out leg the number is generated by the user's equipment although it will have already been verified in consequence of having been delivered to the private network. To maintain the verification it is necessary to ensure that the number submitted by the private network is the number that was received.
A1.8. Network providers wishing to offer a type 4 service will require a contractual commitment from customers that they will only submit CLIs that have been received from the public network. Unlike other types of presentation numbers, type 4 numbers may not always be diallable; this will depend on the nature of the number received from the public network.

Type 5
A1.9. Presentation numbers that identify separate groups of callers behind a private network switch wishing to send different outgoing CLIs. A typical scenario is a call centre making calls on behalf of more than one client. Type 5 presentation numbers are generated by the user's equipment. Subscribers will need to enter into a similar contractual commitment with their network providers as for type 1 presentation numbers - that they are entitled to use the numbers they have selected.

So I take it from that that it is type 4 that they would need, but it could be 5; but either way my boss is happy for us to trial it in the office to get it working, so I can try 4 and then if it doesnt work try 5, but the trouble is our line provider has no idea what it is; would it be called anything else? Does you customer use it with twinning or forwarding?

Thanks,

IIRC they us it with forwarding of calls & it initially caused a minor problem with personal CLI
(ensure all DDIs are programmed with full 11 digits & prefixed with an i)

Who is your current line provider? if they are not aware or able to support these features then either they need to update their systems or you need to find another provider.
