I need some help with setting up Remote Call Forwarding to a cell. I have assigned the person's extension to forwards calls from. And also have set up a speed dial code for this person's cell number, but don't know what to do after this.

We have Avaya Partner Messaging Release 6.0

You will have to tell the system thst you allow that extension to dial remotely.

Feat 00

enter extension number
press 1 (assigned
Feat 00 to exit pgogramming.

Thanks so much for your quick response. I had actually done that before, just worded my question incorrectly. Our user guide says to (Using the Centralized Telephone Progarmming FlowCart):

Feature 00
System Program, System Program, Central Tel Program
Then the extension Number
Press a progammable button (don't know what that is)
Press Feature 11
Dial 2-digit originating extension number
Dial 2-digit destination Speed Dial Number

After I have dialed the originating extension number, and then dial the speed dial number, it comes up with an error. I thought I was missing a step.

Go to the person's phone, figure out where you want to stick a call forward button. Use one with a light next to it, so you will know when it is turned on and off.

Press Feature and dial 00.
Press the button you decided to program.
Press Feature again and dial 11.
Dial the user's extension number.
Dial the 2-Digit speed dial code where you programmed the number to forward to.
Press Feature and dial 00.

Thanks for those steps. I just went and did that, and then phoned in as an outside user, but it didn't forward to the person's cell phone. You mentioned before about knowing if it is on or off. Do I have to go and switch it on?

I'm sorry, I'm just so confused by this system.

When you press the forward button does the light stay on?
Also, you will have to program the speed dial exactly as you would dial from the phone. Do you need to dial 9 to get an outside line?

When I press the button that I thought I had assigned the forward button to, it goes straight onto speaker.

No, we just dial straight out, no 9 or 0 needed.

That button is not programmed as a forward button.

Repeat TTT's instructions:

Go to the person's phone, figure out where you want to stick a call forward button. Use one with a light next to it, so you will know when it is turned on and off.

Press Feature and dial 00.
Press the button you decided to program.
Press Feature again and dial 11.
Dial the user's extension number.
Dial the 2-Digit speed dial code where you programmed the number to forward to.
Press Feature and dial 00.

Did you really program a number in a personal speed dial location?

Put it in speed dial number 99:
Feature 00
Feature 99
Dial the telephone number
Feature 00

Set up the button:
Feature 00
Press the button
Feature-11-(Extension Number)-99
Feature 00

Press the button to turn the feature on

Go to another phone, Press Intercom and dial the extension number, it should call the number.

If I'm not mistaken, their are 3 ways to have call forwarding, once you program it as the above states.

1. Calling extension to extension to that phone.
2. A transfered call from an auto Attendant to that phone.
3. An incoming call ringing that phone and no other phone ringing on the same line that phone is ringing on.

Lack of money is the root of all evil.
