Is there a way to setup a call forward button on a user so that when they leave there office to forward there external calls to there sister SCN site? Both sites are IPO500 and with embedded VM.
yes is the answer, but it depends how you have the incoming calls programmed, if you send all calls to a huntgroup then you can have an out of service huntgroup in the other site (advanced networking license required) and the calls go there when you hit the huntgroup out of service button. It will light the button too so you have a visual where the calls are going and you can have that button on several phones on the system.
Then get rid of it and use vmpro
You can not get it all
No advanced SCN then no normal behavior between those sites !

But buying twice embedded (already done) is almost vmpro
SCN should always be advanced in my opinion

why would embedded impede on the functionality of the incoming calls?
He just wants to send them to the other side (the dark side?) and that makes no difference if you have embedded or VM Pro or am I still dreaming this morning.
It wouldn't, and you are not dreaming (although I am pretty dreamy) ;-).....only kidding. I was saying that he wouldn't want to go down the Advanced SCN route as it stands now because his setup would not be supported, that's what the discussion is about

Has anyone else noticed that in 4.2(17) anytime you attempt to forward a call between locations using a forwarded user WITHOUT an Advanced Networking license you get an error in SSA stating that you have attempted to use Advanced Networking without a license? I have 3 sites where this has failed yet it worked before.

just a last attempt to make a buck or maybe they give out the R5 upgrade for free to the IP500 customers when it comes out and want to make sure that people appreciate what they are getting.
I must be dreaming today but not about you Andrew sorry to tell you.
They can't really as it's not listed as an advanced SCN feature, and if they recommend an upgrade to fix a bug (as they always do) that would incur a cost which they cannot do, so youre saying it doesn't work or it just errors when you do it?

JDClampet, it looks like it depends on your firmware level, but if you do need advanced SCN you current setup will not be supported and may give you issues as embedded should not be used in advanced SCN.

Andy it doesn't work. It lists in Monitor as something related to HG member UFwd with no alternative and then goes to VM if enabled or gives busy if no VM. Then gives the error in SSA. This was obviously a was to avoid purchasing ASCN so it wouldn't surprise me if they locked that down.

Can you try a shortcode without a * or #
Maybe you need to route it to ARS first
