Hello all,

I have a phone set up that is used for an emergency phone. It is setup to cfwa to a cell phone. Is there a way to make the forwarded number display on the cell phone instead of the number that is calling the emergency phone so that the person it is forwarded to knows that it is from the emergency phone?

Thanks in advance

Then the answers should be "probably yes." You just need to ensure you have the PRI setup so you can send the CallerID.

Do you have access to MOL? There is a good document about this. Let me know.

It will not work in some country's like Holland. See the regulations of telecom supervisor.

MitelGuy, I found Article ID# 04-5191-00003.Is this the document you were referring to?

I may not have given enough info in my first post. All calls to this ext. are from internal extensions. All of my extensions are DID numbers. When any extension calls the emergency phone it displays the DID of the ext. that called on the cell phone. I would like it to display the emergency phone DID.

Thanks

The only method I know of that you can do a digit substitution for your scenario is by using CESID.

This method might impact 911 dialing so move cautiously if you go down that path.

Occam's Razor - All things being equal, the simplest solution is the right one.

If it's setup to call the cell, why not have it just go straight to the cell without attempting to ring a phone, then the CLID of the emergency calling set would be displaed. Why do you need to ring a phone internally?

--OR--

Don't forget you also have the ability for the 3300 to send you an e-mail with these details (set, location etc.) when 911 (or any emergency number) is dialed. This could be a Blackberry(TM) or any other SMS/e-mail device.

Bounce the call off of a trunk.

You can use a loop start trunk along with an additional ONS port to accomplish this. In this scenario the call goes to the original designated extn which is tied to the LS trunk. Use the trunk svc form to assign the answer point as *-xxxx (where xxxx = the original ext number just with a star preceeding it so it's now a 5-digit ext) Then CFA *xxxx to your cell.

The caller still dials the original number. This causes the LS trunk to ring-in to the answer point defined in tru svc assignment form. Then that extn is forwarded to the cell. The * digit gets ignored and the cell phone sees the emergency number as desired.

Try turning display held caller ID on transfer to no in the set and the trunks
